Pro's: awesome location, sweet staff, fun daily events, cool guests, colorful! Beds are relatively comfortable and the rooms were roomy enough. The patio is also great to hang out. Con's: no microwave in the kitchen and the bathrooms really need a makeover. The one has a hole and black mold on the ceiling and the floor is always dirty. Also, consider washing the walls - they're dusty and gross.

Booked for two nights ended up staying four. Lovely people who stayed here but also the staff make the atmosphere even better, always has something arranged but its not a 100mph party hostel. BBQ's were great and also lots of lovely cafe's/restaurants only moments away. I've not stayed in any other hostel in this town but for the price, location, atmosphere and breakfast I think you would be trying very hard to beat this place - all they need is a fire pit for cold evenings!

Very well placed hostel, next to a lot of nice bars, restaurants and cafes. Good breakfast. The room wasn\'t very clean though, the bathroom had a lot of mold on the ceiling and wasn\'t the cleanest, and all in all it was far too expensive for what we got.

Showers are off and on. You get a minute of hot water followed by many minutes of cold so you have to do a bit of a dance in the shower. There are only 3 single stall bathrooms in the whole place so you have to wait a lot as well. Also, the bunk beds are very unstable and move around a lot when you sleep. The staff is great and it is a fun place but not very comfortable.

I had a great stay at PataPata. The staff were helpful and engaged and the hostel was colourful and clean. My only complaint would be that the internet signal only worked in the common area inside, and it would have been glorious to sit in the little outdoor patio and use my computer. Other than that, I thought it was great and would recommend it.

Colourful hostel right up in the Cerro. Bathrooms are a bit grotty but the dorms are spacious, with free wifi, helpful staff and a great breakfast. Would recommend for a night or two.

Nice hostel, good staff, however we had a private room with bath and I found it quite too expensive for what it was.

Loved this hostel! Great atmosphere, filled with great people and run by an amazing family. Breakfast was awesome! Close walk to market and right in the middle of Valpo's famous hills. They even have laundry service and beer for purchase. Felt really safe and shared a lot of good meals on their outdoor patio.

The bunk beds were terrible. I was in a top bunk & every time the person in the lower bunk tossed or turned I felt it. The kitchen was poor. You were not allowed to put bottles in the refrigerator. If you buy a coke or water, it is warm when you go to drink it. No microwave.

The atmosphere was fantastic! Although there were no locks on the doors or lockers, I still felt that my things were safe.

Staff were all lovely - Jorge was really really helpful, and his English is great. He organised activities for everyone nearly every night - going to see movies, parties, concerts, pisco sours - yep he makes a good pisco sour. The place was a bit noisy at times, but this was more to do with a few inconsiderate guests rather than the hostel itself. Common areas closed at midnight, so it should have been quiet after that...

Located in the bohemian side of Valparaiso I can only recommend this hostel. Staff was pretty nice, too. The bathrooms could have been a little bit cleaner but that's also the only negative aspect.
