A very charming place that you will definitely appreciate if you like being close to nature (wonderful view across the lake to the amazing mountain range) and amongst friendly and outgoing people!

It became obvious that the only excellent feature of this hostel is the view across the lake. The "bar" is a nightclub/music hall below the dorms' windows! - loud music pumped out till the wee hours - the double room on the other side was OK) - we went to complain and was treated indifferently by the nightstaff - a couple the next night was told they can leave if they don't like it! 2 sometimes 3 large dogs have a free run of the house! Problems with pricing they blamed on Hostelbookers!

Patanuk has the potential of being a great hostel due to location and building but it's a big disappointment really. The bunk beds are very scary as in not solid, toilet doors won't close, let alone lock AND they did not flush, breakfast was poor, some of the staff were very unfriendly and Bariloche being covered in ashes was not very helpfull either but okay, can't blame the hostel for that.

The atmosphere is a reason to stay here. It has a home-feel to it. There is however a bar downstairs where local people tend to stay till the next morning. The noise wasn't too bad but I overheard that visitors of the bars sometimes enter the hostel. The badrooms could be cleaner as well. But overall it has a cosy feel and a great view over the lake.

Probably the nicest hostel I've seen in Argentina so far. Great location next to the lake and not too far from the center. Staff is helpful and breakfast quite good for a hostel as well.

We had a wonderful stay in the patanuk hostel. As all doubles were fully booked we got a nice apartment with a living room an kitchen for ourselfes. This place is really one of those where you can feel like home. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Thank you so much! Nicole and Dieter
