Patong Backpacker Hostel Reviews

I thought this hostel had a fantastic location with very friendly staff. I had read reviews saying that it was a bit loud - which worried me, but I foudn it to be very quiet. Which is great, because I am a light sleeper!

Excellent hotel to meet people. Showers could have been better and it was a bit noisy during the nights (depending in which room you had to stay) because of the noisy street. They had computers, but you had to pay for internet, which was not nice. Staff was very helpful and kind. Very good value for money. Smaller rooms where clean and comfortable, bigger dorms for party people. Common room is cool, with big TV screen and movies!!!

This is a great hostel in a great location. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful, they make you feel like family. The rooms are clean and decent, it's a bit loud but that's because it's in such a good location. Very short walk to the beach and nightlife. For the money you really can't go wrong! Highly recommend this place if you're looking for an inexpensive, quality hostel in a great location.

The location is excellent - minutes away from the intersection of Patong Beach and the crazy Bangla Road. The staff are friendly (even a little flirtatious) and the place is clean, secure and a haven for backpackers in the region. They also offer a free locker facility (bring your own padlock) for your valuables. The communal area has a nice feel, and is a good place to meet fellow travellers. You get free breakfast and coffee/tea with the rooms - bread butter jam. Perfect for the backpacker !!

Absolutely amazing people there, great atmosphere and i have been there a few times now, love the staff and how they joke with you and they are very accomidating. love will go back fo sure!!!

Great location! Right on the beach. Staff very friendly. Very loving and giving. Lots of rooms. Lots of socializing. Always making friends. Plenty of washrooms and showers.Highly recommended if you like the hustle and bustle of active beach life. Very cool!

The place is a bit dirty and smelly and the rooms are pretty cramped with a lot of party people. It is in the centre of the action and beach though and easy to connect with others to do things. Also a few bed bugs. If you are staying in Patong you are going to party so for most people this place is OK.

A nice small hostel, with a friendly staff (like Tip,really like my Auntie,and a young man & women at the night shift) who give the best advice about the town and around. They have complimentary breakfast (I like this part! because You have to wash Your own dishes like at home!) & all the room have own windows direct to fresh air. But, cleanliness and maintain for the bathroom is less, sometimes flush is broken, and get dirt in wall & floor. Best part is, they offer a best price for tour!

It's a great hostel! Great location and staffs are friendly. Unfortunately, they only have 1 shower and 1 toilet in 1st floor so need to wait bit longer.

I stayed in the 10 person dormitory. The beds were comfortable, no complaints other thanthe fact that there wasn't much security in terms of baggage. Only some of the showers had hot water and the water pressure wasn't the best but it is so hot in Patong that most of the time you don't really need hot water anyway. The staff are friendly and helpful and the location is brilliant, right over the road from the beach and close to everything you need.

i loved this place was an awesome place to stay really good place to meet people and close to the beach. staff were helpfull and always friendly deffinately staying here again!!

It's an amazing place...nice view and location

No working hot water. Wifi isn't free. Got some sort of foot fungus from the showers. Right across from the beach is a plus, but maybe too close to the club across the street to have a good night's sleep. Squeeky bunkbeds in dorms make it tough to sleep through neighbors' middle-of-the-night movements. I did meet some cool people here, though, and one of the staff members was really nice and accommodating. One was a little salty. Massages downstairs are some of the cheapest you'll find.

The location was great, but the amenities for the price was not worth while. It was very dirty, and always crowded. Although there were cameras, anyone could walk in off the street and enter our rooms. The toilets were always very messy and never cleaned. I would on y recommend based on the location. 2 min walking to Balong St. where all the crazy bars are, and 2 min walk to the beach.

Patong Backpackers had a great atmosphere with really friendly people. The location was perfect, right next to Bangla rd and across from the beach. The toilets and showers are not ideal, but you get what you pay for. If we ever return to Patong we would stay here again.

Staff are simply amazing - free wifi should be standard, but that is the only niggle. Had an amazing time here !

Hostel was in a great location, right by the beach and on New Year's Eve, they organized some fun games. However, I would consider staying elsewhere next time. The staff was friendly but had difficulty sometimes communicating with guests in English with very standard questions. Also the security of location was ok, it's in a very bustling area but a guest got mugged right outside of our hostel in the early morning while waiting for transport to the airport. It was noisy depending on your room.
