The price was really good in a good location, but far from the city center. Was a little difficult to find the Hostel even if we follow the map because the name of the street. In the breakfast they should serve hot milk. The hostel was cold because they left a door always open in the corridor. I recommend for who are looking for some cheap place but not for parties.

Extremely run-down. Staff (with one lovely exception) were rude and refused to even smile back when greeted. Kitchen burned breakfast at 7.30 on Sunday morning, setting off the firealarm and we had to go ask reception what to do because no one seemed to care. Eventually they blamed people smoking in the rooms and said everything was PROBABLY ok and we should go back to bed. Toilet wouldn't flush, room had no heating (in London in November!), barely any hot water, mould around the leaking window.

I can imagine that if you sleep for 6 wks in nothing else than scruffy youth dirty hostels with shared bathroom, that you experience Peckham Lodge as a 5* accm. so we must be fair and admit that we never should have booked this room in the first place and better had spent another 50 Pnds for a cosier and much better accomodation with better beds, working TV, miles closer to London. Staff was very helpfull though, sheets where clean, breakfast was correct. So go for this if you are desperate.

When we got there the Hostel didn't get any mesage from Hostel world that there was any booking and no room was reserved for us. I also never received a confirmation email nor a txt message that I asked for on the webpage so it was only MY LUCK and FORESIGHT that I made a pic of the booking confirmation on my computer screen to prove there was a booking. This gave me the leveverage for them to make a room available for me, otherwise we would have been stranded!!!
