There is no kitchen that someone can use. They sell food of your own, you have to pay for the locker though, and that is 1 euro for 24 hours. The funny thing is you have to make your own bed which if you are on the second floor of the bank bed that is very hard....staff was ok....but too far from the train stop.
Everything was super, except one thing. That was the cupboard. In every hostel for everyone have one cupboard with key (key bring itself). But in this hostel has no cupboard door for closing with key. We must pay extra for safe our privates things. And its not cheap.
We stayed here for one night as a stop. It was cheap and thats what we expected. Its £2 a towel, there are no lockers in the rooms and you have to pay for a locker downstairs. There was NO atmosphere, there was old ladies knitting staring at us in the common room haha....and then 16 year old boys hogging the pool table. If you want a cheap sleep this is great- or if you want to meet people stay else where!!!
The facilities were fine. Staff was fine. Did not have a good experience with fellow guests. We felt uncomfortable because of this and it ruined the experience. The hostel itself is fine.
Far away the city center, but its not big problem for me. Its problem a big but poor hostel, structure very old and service room for cleaner very fast and anything functional. I was there just for 1 night
A certain member of staff here ( Gesy ) with a scruffy beard and a hat is very abusive and attacks insults guests every day - he has been there for years and the manager cannot control him , the other staff are fine , the girls are great and yes its dirty and no wifi but insane staff cannot be tolerated , i was attacked by him and three of his friends, they tried to beat me up in the elavator for talking back after he attacked me for trying to pay late , be warned its the worst hostel in Berlin.
Exactly what you want for a hostel! Cheap! Great kitchen! Friendly staff, clean rooms, and great location! Two stops on the ubahn and you're at Alexander platz! Great value for money!
Pegasus Hostel is very big with a large courtyard and lounge area. The rooms are quite spacious, with more than enough room for luggage and to hang out in. The breakfast, otoh, is expensive and no better than what is provided for free at many hotels (in the US at least :p), but you're better off at a coffee shop or kebab place. The facilities generally worked, although they were shaky sometimes (possibly timing). Worst of all: no internet outside of the common room. And it's very slow. Meh.
The low price of one night is balanced by a lot of little services very expensive (2 euros for one bottle of water). More the atmosphere was not friendly, the hostel was not really clean and the room was big but only had one little bathroom. But the location is pretty good and the front of the hostel is nice.
The staff were very friendly and helpful when it came to advising places to go both at night and in the day. However, the facilities were very poor. There were lots of large rooms on our floor, and only one toilet and 2 showers amongst everyone. I am aware that some of the rooms had their own toilets but even so, a large number of people without their own toilets were expected to share only one. The rooms were basic and had no wifi. The kitchen was also far too small, enough for one group.
Good overall experience, we only stayed in Berlin for 2 nights so we only really needed a bed. Facilities were basic but sufficient, the room was relatively clean and the showers warm. We met a group at the hostel whose keys stopped working, but luckily that didn't happen to us. The journey into the centre was really easy as the U-Bahn was close and the trip was only 10/15 mins. The hostel is relatively well placed for nights out - the clubs are all nearby (we walked from the hostel).
I don't understand the!negative comments about this place. WiFi isn't much good, but I'm not traveling so I can talk about it on Facebook. Rooms were clean, staff were nice and the location is perfect. walking distance to a whole lot of clubs. atmosphere is a bit non-existent but that didn't matter, since I was with a friend and we weren't really in the hostel.
First impression was average. The man behind the desk was very abrupt, seemed to be annoyed all the time. The lockers then broke for some reason and he did nothing to help, just sat behind his desk eating. Very poor location. Toilets were disguisting. Never stay there again.

I met nice people at this hostel, from all over the world. It's always great to have a kitchen! And I liked the location.
Friendly & helpful staff, with clean & comfortable rooms
We were greeted by a very unenthusiastic member of staff, the rooms then didn't have lockers which were lockable and the lockers down stairs were safe but for smaller items ie. Not able to house a suitcase. The wifi was slow and dodgy! Really didn't enjoy our stay here at all.
