Excellent hostel. Very clean rooms, great common areas including comfy couches, rooftop patio and a pool table. The fact that it is located in an old courtyard building give it great character. Reception staff are friendly, helpful and speak english quite well.

The Hostel lounge is very cozy, the staff are nice and friendly. The location is good for you who want to experience the hutong neigborhood in beijing. it's pretty close to the main road and subway station.

I loved the Peking Yard Hostel! So much. The fresh cut flowers every morning were amazing. They kept the whole place smelling delicious from morning until night. The lounge area had so much atmosphere, from the art to lighting to the music. The beds were comfortable, the showers clean and strong. Not all the staff spoke the best English, but every time I needed help I got it. Down an alleyway, but really not sketchy. Mostly filled with old men and their little dogs. Loved the area too.

One of the hostel's staffs, Lindsay her (English) name, was exceptionally helpful. Thank you for that. She spoke the best English. The rest of the staff's level of English was adequate.

Lovely atmosphere. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean. Only thing I'd suggest is that you provide a free towel for use or charge less than 35 Yuan.

It's be good if there can be wifi coverage in the rooms. The hostel is beautifully-decorated with flowers.

Hostel is beautifully decorated with many potted flowers plants and trees, and it was nice to see small fish in a large tank, all creates a lovely, quiet environment. Only negatives were the dorm room was small and a bit cramped yet the price for the dorm is quite expensive compared to other hostels, Peking Yard also does not have single private rooms, and doubles are very expensive. The hostel also did not have a DVD player. Although the hostel is in central Beijing there is not much nearby.

It's become somewhat pricey as far as youth hostels are concerned. 200 Yuan per person for a twin that could hardly hold 2 people. We had to take turns getting dressed in the room because there wasn't space for 2 persons. Wireless doesn't work in outside rooms.

this hostel was ok, rooms good, staff helpful, location a bit pants, near metro but not in the city. the big thing about hostels in china i have found is that many people were just in the common area on wifi with little conversation going on :(

Beautiful hostel (beauty is so often overlooked for comfort). But it's also pretty comfortable and very easy to find. There is an issue with their kitchen, but I'm willing to forgive anything with a good excuse and a smile. Definitely one of the better places I stayed in China.

Great location and very good staff. Arrived early after hard seat train hell (no sleep). Room not ready, OK, it still wasn't ready after it should have been so ended up snoozing on the sofa. Very upsetting... Was very cold in the communal areas and rooms, could do with a bit more heating. Even in the rooms we struggled to be warm on some nights. Food good but pricey same with acomodation but then I guess this is Beijing. Despite all this had a good time and would recommend.

We had an amazing 3 night stay at Peking Youth hostel. The facilities were beautiful and the staff were welcoming and extremely helpful. It truly was the highlight of our time in Beijing. I would without reservation recommend this hostel to any of my friends traveling to Beijing. Just a perfect place.

This hostel was very good value for money. On the main street of pingyao it was in a very good location and it had a lot of character- the rooms were very nice. The manager was also very friendly and helpful when we didn't have heating in our room- allowing us to see many other rooms. They also organise day trips which were very good.
