Charming, knowledgeable staff who are always, no matter what time of day or night it is, helpful and friendly is really what makes Penguin a great place to stay in Dahab. Their room floors could be cleaner but their bathrooms are excellent, their blankets warm, their sheets clean, and they organise a great tour to climb Mt. Sinai by night. We'd definitely stay there again.

It`s like visiting and old friend, but still you can do whatever you want all day long.

A good value hostel in a good location. The staff are very friendly and ameniable and were extremely hepful in terms of rearranging our stay due to problems beyond our control,and arranging a late check out time due to being on a trip. the communal areas are good - a really nice restaurant/bar and seating area right by the beach, with good value food, drinks and shisha. what could be better? there was a good atmosphere here and very easy to socialise and meet people.

Penguin is a brilliant hostel - great price, great location, and great staff. Staff helped us book a bus back to Cairo as well as snorkelling tours - fantastic all around. We ended up staying 3 extra nights because we were enjoying Dahab so much. Highly recommended.

Helpful staff, good prices, but the bathrooms REALLY need to be cleaned more often and stocked with toilet paper. They were nasty! But other than that, had a great stay!

great place but all properties need to spend more time on their bathrooms and toilet facilities... the only let down.

This hostel is pretty good. Clean amenities. We had to change our first room because it smelled so badly of cat urine, but the second room we got was fine. Would stay there again. Hostel as a great beach front restaurant, but there are so many cats everywhere its no wonder it also had a faint cat urine smell. Needless to say we never ate there after the initial welcome drink.
