The staff is lovely and really dedicated. There is a simple, but fullfilling breakfast with bread, jam, cookies, hot milk, tea and coffee. The building is actually really pretty and you can hang out in two living rooms or on the terrasse on the roof. The rooms

It's a family hostel (parents & two nice children) and I liked them. It's just that the building and its location is doomed to be perpetually noisy. It's like trying to sleep inside of a drum while the "inside noise" - creaky wooden hallway, an occasional basketball game in it; sturdy slamming doors with excellent, but noisy heavy-duty locks; a 2 a.m. singalong with drums.....competes with "outside" street noise pouring thru glass balcony doors on all sides. High volume day & night. Smoky too.
Awesome times. Thank you so much for making my trip to Peniche better than I could have ever expected!!!
I've been travelling all over the world and I've never felt that much at home like I did in the Welcome Hostel! It's located really good, it's super clean and the rooms are really nice..I was travelling alone and think it's a really good place to meet people. The family treats you like you belong to them, you really always feel welcome! They even let me sleep at the couch when the hostel was full and I couldn't get into my other hostel because the owners didn't want to let me in..Amazing hostel!!
The room had no lock and there was no locker within the room to put any valuables but the rooms were of good quality. Very close to the beach and restaurants.
The place is ok, but nothing more. Staff is smoking in the living room and in the bathroom, so you smell it everywhere. Our room (double) had no keys, so we couldn't lock our door when we left. There's only one bathroom for male and one for female guests on the floor. As toilet and shower are in this same one room, waiting time can be pretty long. We wanted to change our location and had a huge argument with the owners, they weren't in for any fair discussion, so left a pretty bad memory... :(
Hostel has a homey feel, and owners are very welcoming. Located in town, a short stroll from the fort, marina, and some nice seafood grill restaurants. Also, the is abundant free parking very close-by.f
