This hostel is very well located - close to metro, train station, shopping and some tourist spots. Paula is an amazing host; and gave us great advice on what to do/which route to take/what to avoid/etc. Paula made us feel at home, and her breakfast is absolutely legendary! Thank you Paula for everything!!!

Paula the hostess is extremely friendly and welcoming. the breakfasts are legendary and are the highlight of the stay. The room was clean and quaint. Highly recommended and would definitely stay again.

Paula, the owner is the best host I ever met. Her kindness, availability and friendship has no limits. The rooms are spotless clean and the breakfast is fabulous. Be ready to spend your vacation in a fairy tale environment. Of course Lisbon is great. Thank you Paula, we love you, Adrian and Carmen.

I had read previous reviews about Paula, and they are true! She treats everyone as if they were a guest in her home. She is welcoming, gracious, and so helpful. and her breakfasts are a romp through the finest bakery in town. What I found most helpful was Paula's guidance through the sites in Lisbon and surrounding cities. She mapped out touring routes for me each day, advising what should be seen and what could be skipped, and explained how to navigate the trains and metro.

Despite some incommodities as absence of lift, Pensao Royal is a fantastic place in the very centre of Lisbon, and its keeper Paula is a fantastic person. I hope to return to P.R. and warmly recommend to people who have no health problems: carrying a heavy suitcase to the 3rd floor is not for elderly and weak. But yes, despite this, the finest hostel I know.

Paola is the main reason why this place is so fantastic. Her breakfasts are amazing (get ready for a sugar overload). Location is super central.

Paula is doing her best to help in any possible way! It has a unique character and a great breakfast! On the other side - at least in 2 of the rooms you cannot close properly the bathroom&toilet door...

We could not have asked for a better home away from home than the Pensao Royal where Paula not only gives you food to eat but a royal feast each morning. Paula made our stay most enjoyable through friendly fellowship and the comfort of knowing we could count on her through whatever may come our way. She generously gave us sweet parting gifts as well as setting up a taxi for our early flight and preparing to-go bags of breakfast for the road. She will give you all you need but steal your heart!;)

Something that will stay in your mind forever is the breakfast of this place - very very very good! You cannot compare it to any other place of this price category. Apart from that, as soon as you enter you feel transported in an Alice in Wonderland scene. So if you like modern, simple rooms, this is not the place for you. If you want to try a different kind of accommodation, this is THE place for you. I do think that it is slightly expensive, but the breakfast and the location make up for it.

Pensão Royal is really amazing. Good accomodation and a lovely hostess! Moreover the location is perfect for turists: direct in the city center.

I would definitely tell all my friends going to Lisbon about Pensao Royal. Not only it is located in an excellent position, but Paula and her super nice rooms, atmosphere and breakfast make your stay homy and relaxing. Pensao Royal is the ideal place to start breathing the mood and the history of the city. Really, nothing to complain about.

The hostel has perfect location, historic sights of central Lisboa are within a walking distance. The building is old, has no lift, which might be a problem for those with heavy luggage. Rooms are quite small, but comfortable. All extremally clean. All designed with paterns, flowers, toys, pillows, butterflies etc. so with such a way, that you would always remember staying in Pensao Royal. The breakfast is fantastic. And if you need any help, any advice, be sure you cannot find a better place :)

Paula was a amazing host who made our stay in Lisbon unforgettable. The hostel is located in a very central location in Lisbon and offers comfortable accommodations. The free breakfast was superb and she even made us a home cooked Portuguese meal that was phenomenal! When I go back to Lisbon, I am absolutely staying at Pensao Royal and I encourage everyone else to do so as well. Fantastic!

Loved staying there. Loved eating those amazing cakes, cookies, fruit salads, ham, cheese... - you name it. Loved the hostess Paula (thank you so much! go Sporting!). Loved the little advice she gave us about where to go, what to do, how to get somewhere. Pensao Royal is definitely a great place to stay during your time in Lisboa!

It was a pleasure to stay and the location is perfect to see most of the highlights of lisbon in a split of a second. You really fell downtown and right in life ! Breakfast and hospitality is amazing, colourful and warm ambience. Everytime again !

Very nice staff, She is very kind. Her cake is very delicious and the room is clean. Something a little bit should be improved are the door of toilet can not lock and the shower can not be hang.
