The host, Paulo is great! This was far and away the best hostel we stayed in. Closer to a boutique hotel than a hostel. Great location, cool rooms, clean, great host, good vibe.

One of the best hostels I've ever been. Everything was excellent. The owner, Paulo, is a really friendly, helpful and nice person. He really cares about the details. I'll recomend to all my friends this place and I hope that I can stay in Pension Aia the next time that I'll go to San Sebastián. Thanks for all Paulo!!

very nice place, clean and cozy... very friendly owner, good location. the only downside: the neighbors upstairs are quite noisy, but guess that's inevitable :P

This was honestly one of the best hotels/hostels we have ever stayed at. The location was great, I would say better than staying in the old town, which is still only within 10 min walking. It is also very close to the brilliant beach. The host is great, he gives excellent tips for restaurants. The atmosphere is cosy, rooms and facilities are kept top clean at all times. It is the little details that make the difference: complimentary coffees&biscuits, nice music, fresh scents and cute decoration

Paulo was great. Very sweet and helpful. The bed was the most comfortable we have stayed on in a hotel or hostel and the room was a great size.

Paulo was an amazing host and extremely helpful. We were in San Sebastian for 3 rainy days and he provided us with more than enough ideas to fill our day. He even offered us HIS umbrella when we saw him on the street! The hostel itself was more comfortable to stay in than any hotel or hostel we stayed in during our month Europe journey. The restaurant across the street, la guinda, was the best food we ate in the city. Definitely would return!!!! Clean and peaceful. Paulo's smile went a long way!

It´s really a great place to stay. Everything is very clean, newly furnished and tidy. There is a nice kitchen where cornflakes, tea, coffee and cookies are for free. Our room even had a terrace. The owner is very nice, explained us in detail the best places to go and showed us some great pintxo bars. Even offered his help when we forgot our bagpack in a restaurant and couldnt get it back!

Paulo, the owner of Pension Aia is responsible for making our fabulous, amazing and very memorable stay the best ever. His warm sincere immediate smile and gracious personality made us feel right at home. We wanted to be friends with he and his family. The hip, modern clean line design was fresh and super clean. Large patio. Great 24 hour well stocked kitchen to meet other travelers over tea, coffee and biscuits. Location was quiet, yet close to beach, shopping, cafes and the promenade.

I have no hesitation what so ever recommending the Pension Aia to travellers of any kind. Paolo and his lovely wife went out of their way to ensure that i enjoyed my stay. Having recently moved to San Sebastian from England, i was unsure of the city, Paolo sat me down with a map and showed me everything from where the grocery stores are, to where i can begin to look for work. I have never felt more at home in a hostel and would deeply encourage you to stay at the Pension Aia.

This hostel couldn´t be cleaner. The rooms are very nicely decorated. The location is great: 3 minutes away from El Kursaal, 7 minutes away from the old town...walking. The kitchen is nice and there was breakfast for us: milk, cereals, biscuits. I recommend it!!!
