The owner spoke not one single word of English!! Which was crazy because pretty much everyone in the hostel was English spoken... He kept getting mad at us for not turning off the lights which was so annoying! He came in to our room about 5 separate times raving on in an angry manner pointing at the light which we thought was unacceptable. However the cleaner made the beds everyday which is outstanding service for a hostel. It is right next to the beach which is great. It's also in an apartment

Hello Miss: It's problem of education, efectibamente tube to call the intention on different occasions .1º every time you leave the bathroom we had to go clean the bathroom and turn off the light, remember when I told you that part of your own bedroom, was a disaster, all your clothes all over the floor? I wish you much luck in life. greetings .miguel

More of a home stay than a hostel, this is a short walk from La Concha beach. Rooms are a good size and comfortable, toilets though very small. The owner does not speak English but it's a great way to practice your Spanish!

Sure you wanted permanent party at the hostel and it is logical as I keep doing that kind of activity, so you unhappy. Greetings .miguel

No complaints for us. Great staff with a lovely location. Miguel and his family are so friendly and helpful. We met some great people in the dorms and enjoyed exploring together. No party atmosphere. No kitchen or laundry facilities also. Could be potentially a bit cheaper but we were there in a busy period. Enjoy your stay in San Sebastián - we adored the quaint beach town and its surrounds!

Had a brilliant stay at pension amalur! It's clean and Miguel is very warm and welcoming! Fresh towels on the bed everyday were a great touch - felt more like a dorm in a hotel! I will definitely stay again when I return to San Sebastián! Muchas gracias Miguel! :)

Miguel, the owner, was very friendly and informative. The common room, with its bookcases, pictures etc., has a lot of character. Location was good, only a minute to the beach. The town itself has a great atmosphere. I would stay here in Hostel Amalur again if I came back to San Sebastien.

Miguel is a very welcoming host, the linen and towels are clean, the showers are hot and the location is good. Not a party hostel, but good for chilling.

Very well located. Just a short and very casual stroll to the beach. Quite pricey although most things are a bit darer in San Sebastian. Beds are long enough for long people and showers are top notch. Recommend.

The best part about this hostel is the very funny and friendly owner. Unfortunately there was a language barrier (our spanish is not very good!) but he was extremely helpful, especially when we were sick for a few days. The location could not have been better. It was expensive but everything is expensive in San Sebastian in high-season. Thank you !!

Small and cute hostel. Staff were friendly but he couldn't speak English so it took a while for us to understand what he was trying to say. Bathrooms were nice but had 2 for the hostel. Beds were clean and towels were provided daily!

Hello Eliza Villanueva: Thank you for valoracción in Hostelwolrld, but one thing I do not agree with you, say that there are only 2 toilets in the harbor and that is not true because the AMALUR board has a total of 5 bathrooms with 5 showers. best regards . Miguel

The cost to visit is a little pricey but when you arrive it is well worth the cost. They make your bed beautifully every day and provide you with a fresh towel. The staff are kind and helpful, however are not very strong with English. I'd definitely stay again.

The room was very hot and humid because the windows weren't open and there was no fan in the room.

I had a great stay at Pension Amalur. It's not a party hostel so it's good if you want a relaxing break. It's in a great location - only a 2 minute walk to the main beach and walking distance to shops and the old town. The place was very clean with linen and bath towels being changed every day which was nice. The owner, Miguel was so friendly and very helpful in telling you about what sights to see and how to get to places. Would definitely stay here again!

I would definitely recommend Pension Amalur. It's a two minute walk from the beach, Miguel is awesome and the place is really nice. Traveling with two girls, we felt completely safe.

The owner of Pension Amalur is lovely. He doesn't speak English however tries as much as he can. He shows you the main places to visit in San Seb and where to eat and party. We stayed the first night in a shared room which was quite large and very clean with a lot of storage. We then moved to a private room which was also quite large and felt like you were at home. The hostel has a homey vibe however is very quiet. 2 minute walk from the beach and roughly 10 minute walk to old town,
