I was prepared for a lot worse after reading the other reviews; but overall I found Glockenhaus to be good value for Innsbruck. Hostess was friendly and welcoming, and efficient. Although I booked a mixed dorm, I think she tried to keep guys and girls separate for the most part, and I was fortunate to just share with one other girl - passing a dorm downstairs full of boys the smell was quite interesting ... Location is a short walk from the city centre and walking distance to the Alpine Zoo!

first of all: it wasn't very nice and professional. after my arrival in the hostel i had to wait several minutes(approx. 10min) until someone came. and this someone was a person from the cleaning staff telling me the chief's not there recently. after quite some time of waiting he came and was very unfriendly. there was no motivation being friendly, no sign of even trying to speak in a proper, easy way to understand. the beddings, especially the mattrasses were terrible, no comfort! never again!

The internet was not working and nobody could help us. A little bit far from the historical centre (15 minutes walking). No security at all! All the dorms lock out and separate from the reception (with a different entrance, where the door is open with a eletronic key but sometimes it wasnt really closed, so anyone could get in!)

Pretty bad tempered host, not interested at answering some basic logistic questions

Well, I guess it's the cheapest place to stay in Innsbruck, but it was small, overcrowded, and there was no common room. So staying in an overheated room with 3 other people (luckily only half of the other beds were occupied) and doing yoga in the hallway and a shower that leaked all over my clothes on the floor (and my moneybelt) for 20 euros or whatever it ended up being was NOT the highlight of my European travels!

The receptionnist was very nice and helpful. But the hostel was a bit hard to find. My bed wasn't done (sheets not changed) so I took another bed instead. We couldn't lock the room and there was a mice trap in the bedroom so I assume there could be mice in the room. The shower was a bit weird. Despite all the negative things, this is the only hostel in Innsbruck so the price is interesting.

There didn't appear to be any lockers in the room I stayed in. It's budget accommodation. Enough said.

Hostel was cosy, however a bit small and didn't offer any sort of common room. Staff were really nice and helpful, we had a problem and needed a printer and let us use there personal computer. No breakfast and no kitchen made it hard but all up had no problems.

Just a place to sleep. No breakfast. 10 min walk from the old town. Staff have a closed-door policy. Woman was friendly, but didn't go out of her way for anything. Rooms were decently clean and nice and warm. The only lock was on the very outside door, and once you were inside that, all of the rooms were accessible, not having their own locks. There were no lockers. I would probably try to find a different place another time.

The problem is this is not a hostel...rather is a pension. Here you get some a dorm (8 bed), with clean sheets of course...and thats about it. The door has no lock. There is single bathroom and toilet, with a not very good quality shower. Forget breakfast, a quick snack in the bar or a lounge to chill out. There are 4 books to read if you like but no one would care as much as even look at them. The reception is bell based. U have to ring a door bell.

Lovely, quaint little place. It was very clean. I arrived a few hours early, but everything was already clean and ready and I was able to check in. The location is good for going into the mountains or the town. It's a bit of a walk to the station, but there's public transport. Mostly just a place to sleep- no common room to meet people, no breakfast. Also, no locks on doors or lockers, but it's a pretty safe area. The lady who runs it is great! Let me check in early and borrow her iron.

Two night stay - average hostel if you're there for a short stay then its fine for the price. Agree with the security issues as there are no safes or lockers. No breakfast. 10min walk to the old town. Walk up the hill to the zoo and for mountain walks which were great!! One toilet for the floor which is a bit inconvenient. Not the worst hostel, but not in keeping with the ethos of World hostelling ie. doesnt encourage socialising. Innsbruck is a stunning city though!!!

PLUS: bus stop is right outside, excellent ensuite room, cleaned everyday, the family lives in the same house - so well maintained, tv in room. 10 mins downhill from Alpenzoo n Hungerburg. MINUS: No breakfast n it's quite a walk from eateries/ city centre. No kitchen nor laundry facilities.

A very bad hostel, crammed and dirty. Old wooden beds did not seem safe.

I had one night in this hostel and for me was good place for my exploration of Innsbruck. It is near to the historical center. For one night it is... good...

Lots of character to this hostel, the owner is super sweet ! The location is good, easy to take the bus from the train station (a bit too far to walk) but quick and easy to walk into the main area of the city. Really clean, comfy rooms. Be aware of the check in/check out times. We had a problem returning our keys because we had to leave the hostel pretty early in the morning, owner wasn't going to be there yet and we couldnt return them the night before because we were meeting friends.
