It's a small place, actually a flat that's used as hotel. Very close to the bus and train station. Ideal if you only wanna stay a couple of nights and you don't mind sharing the bathroom with another person.

The bedroom was very clean and the owner very homely. The bathrooms too were big and clean, with everything you need. We felt like at home.

A lovely little property on a nice quiet street. Very handy for the bus, train and ferry station and not far from the centre of the city. And as for cleanliness-- this is the first property where I felt I could walk around barefoot .The owner was very helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The son's proprietary was very very VERY rude to us. If he thought we were being loud at some point, just say it POLITELY, not yelling or INVADING our room while we had our pijamas on (NO privacy). That's why this review is not very good.

Pension Madrid 21 is a great place to stay for the independent traveler. The hostel has a feeling much like a hotel, without large shared rooms and no community spaces. There is no front desk either, but we found the couple who owns the place to be very friendly, but they only speak Spanish. The location is great, right by the harbor and less than a five minute walk from the train and bus station. And as for cleanliness-- this is the first hostel where I felt I could walk around barefoot!

When we arrived we were greeted by the Hostel owner who made us feel as if we were inconveniencing him. We've stayed in many many hostels before and have never been greeted in such an unwelcoming fashion. We were offered no explanation of the pension's facilities nor any information on things to see or do in Santander. However, the pension was clean, quiet, had hot water, and was a short walk from the city center. If you want a simple place to spend the night, it's not a bad choice.

It's more like staying in an apartment, no common room/front desk to ask questions. It's a clean place & the owners seem very nice, but I would've liked to have a place to ask questions about the city. It's in a great location, right near the center of the city and the Barrio Pesquero. Free Wifi and TV in the room. Only 2 bathrooms for the half of the hostel that we were in so there were times we had to wait. We could leave our baggage our last day, but it just stayed in the hall not locked.

The place is really close to the train station and to the bus station. It takes less than 15 minutes from the airport to the hostel. It's not really an hostel, it's more a kind of bed&breakfast, without breakfast. Shared bathrooms, usually clean. Rooms are very clean. You'll find towels in every room. The crew people only speak spanish. Overall, I suggest this place!

One reason for booking for booking was that the pension was on a quiet side road. However we were taken to another location that was on a busy main road, with the distinct smell of car fumes. I wouldn't want to return because of that. The man who met us was very helpful and friendly.

Pension A-Madrid is just a few minutes away from the Train and Bus Stations which makes it great for travelers ... The actual location of your room may be in a different building but the owners remain available and attentive to all rooms. The staff was helpful throughout my stay and agreed to let me leave my luggage for several hours after check-out!
