good. the limited internet was a bit annoying. the rooms were very noisy at night despite there being no partying or music playing

The owners are great! Thanks Clinton, for everything! great place to hang out on the roof and grab a drink, though don't forget a jacket, the roof is seriously windy! Have the bartender Ameil( spelling?) make you a special drink.

Very nice place to stay. Clean, fun,friendly staff.

On a positive note, a great party was held on the roof of the hostel The main downsides were that the hostel common areas were dirty, the downstairs lobby and lift are ancient, the carpets need replacing, and one evening we were able to enter our rooms without passing anyone at reception

Great location, you're within walking distances from all sightseeings but also from bars and restaurants. We never felt unsafe even when coming back late at night; moreover there is somebody 24 hrs a day at the reception. The staff is really helpful: they managed to change our robben island booking and woke us up on our last early morning!!

My stay at Penthouse on Long was very good. Their beds are really comfortable. The staff is most helpful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. The kitchen is well quipped and there are ample, clean ablutions. There are muffins/biscuits available every morning(for free) to have with your morning coffee/tea. The location is good and I will make it my Number One place to stay when I am in Cape Town again - loved the whole experience of staying there.

I knew this place was in the middle of Cape Town, but I didn't realise quite how central it was! Perfect to use as a base for seeing the city, and still felt really safe and secure. Very clean, comfy bed, great vibe and atmosphere, and I absolutely LOVED the rooftop bar looking out over the city... Definitely coming back here :)

Great hostel with awesome management and a nice vibe. Only issue with the set up was that non-guests are allowed into the roof tip bar, which is fine by itself but the only access to the bar involves walking through the entire hostel past all the rooms. Still, I had a great time and would definitely recommend it!

Great location if you want to party as you never will have to walk more than a few blocks to get anywhere which is great at night. The female only dorm was a good option, but the lights seemed like they were always on as the room faced the busy long street - so i suggest an eye patch. Security was good - they have 24 hour security so the lifts seem to be fine these days.
