I really enjoyed the time that I have stayed in this hostel, its cheap and the location is very good. However the toilets was almost all the time dirty.

No one cleaned the women's bathroom over the course of 24 hours. There wasn't any toilet paper either. The dorms do not have locks on them and since there was no age restriction it made you feel uncomfortable because it felt as if it was a hostel for old men.Everyone was nice enough but it was definitely one of my least pleasant hostel experiences to date. The only positive is the price and location
The staff were very helpful and flexibale with no nasty surprises and the free breakfast was very good. However the area around the hostel was very quiet at night with not a lot to do.
awesome hostel! one of the best, but a bit far from the centre
The place is not clean, the bathroons smell bad all the time, the staff don't now to give helpfull information, the lockes are too small. But the livingroon has a nice decoration and it is really close to de famous pastéis de Belém.
Best experience I've had in a hostel so far. Very easy to meet people and the security was second to none (I wish free lockers were a standard everywhere!) Bathrooms were cleaned daily and the patio was lovely to relax on. Won't hesitate to book there again
The STAFF was excellent. They were informative and truly concerned about my time in Portugal. The owner went over and above to please the guests. The hostel has a pretty garden to chill in. Also, the location is near the Monasterio Jeronimino ( uildt in 11th Century. Overall, People Hostel offers great atmosphere and a good breakfast all for a small price.
Cleanliness isn't that good:Neither in bathrooms nor in toilets Toilets and showers have transparent doors so everyone can watch you while you are showering. The staff never smiles- they aren't interested in conversations.Hostel is located very far from the centre(30 minutes). Moreover we can't rent a locker because the guy from the reception hadn't have more keys, although lockers were free in our room. There is also a mess with the rooms:You have to change and nobody tells you anything
Delighted with this hostel. Unfortunately I could not enjoy it to its full potential because I was unwell. But staff were more than helpful, and the fellow guests were really friendly. A+++
Booked a room again the week after (2 months in advance), but when we arrived the room was already taken. We had to find another place to stay, not so cool...

suggestions : open kitchen 24hours more hangers in bathroom
All in all this is an excellent place in a beautiful part of town. While the place is not in the center of town this fact is more than compensated by the other amenities that this location can offer, e.g. museums, the Torre de Belem, the Monastery with its beautiful cloisters, the planetarium, etc. The tram 15 which stops just one minute away from the hostel brings you directly and in just a few minutes to the Praca de Comercio, smack in the center of town. Excellent place!
A nice hostel, I have also been to others, that are a bit more exciting, but this one is still pretty good. Have fun :p
