Good equipped kitchen, easy to meet people there if you're travelling alone and it's not too far away from the beach etc. The countdown is quite far away and I couldn't find another supermarket but also didn't have the time to really look for it in the area. if there'd be lockers in the bedrooms would be great, also more plugs in the room would be helpful. I would recommend the place.

Certainly one of the most noisiest hostels I have ever stayed in. Okay if you are under the age of 21!!!

I chose to stay here over the other hostels because they offered free kayak hire and had private bathroom. Room was clean and basic Bed was comfortable. Friendly Aussie guy on reception. Cheap and cheerful base to explore the area. Check out Tango Jet Ski for an awesome trip, Duke of Marlborough Hotel in Russel for a pint at least (1kg lamb dinner for 2 was delish) Paihia bakery rocks too! Enjoy!!

Really enjoyed my stay, great hostel to meet like-minded people and quiet. Extended my stay as I enjoyed the hostel so much and would recommend highly to anyone not in it for the party :) so sad to be back at base in Auckland!

I thought this was a lovely friendly hostel, and it has everything you need here. I was a little concerned about security though as you can reach in and unlock the door if the window is open! We didn't have any problems mind...

good hostel only 2 things I didn't like: the kitchen and the common room closed during the night and only one plug in the room
