Great location. Nice staff. The rooms were cleaned. And they were available 24/7 in case we need. I went back there because of that.

We stayed in this hostel for 2 days. We arrived from Madaba at 8am. We were expecting that we could not check in since it was still very early. However, it was a sweet surprise since our room was already ready. Breakfast for 3JOD was already set up as well. The location is perfect, walking distance to the city center and the petra. Very accessible. Room was clean, cozy and has many windows which i really like. It is along the main road but you can sleep peacefuly at night without disturbance.

The room was a bit dirty but the hotel has a nice rooftop and the staff was nice and helpful. They offered to do he transfer until the entrance on Petra in the morning which is very convenient.

Nice hostel, very helpful and friendly staff. It's just up the road from the roundabout with lots of restaurants and small convenience shops. We drove down to Petra and parked for free at the gate. Breakfast was a typical Jordanian selection.

Petra Gate was quiet and well-kept, located halfway up a hill in Petra town that allowed it the most incredible view of the entire valley. I highly recommend watching the sun set from the terrace on the roof! The staff were kind and helpful, even helping me book a bus back to Amman the following evening. The rooms were clean and the hotel is near to several shops and restaurants where you can have dinner.

Not as close to Petra as advertised. Quite a walk. Basic and simple repairs are needed throughout the hotel but have been neglected. Mediocre food, but the staff was helpful in arranging transportation in Jordan.

Avoid Room 114! Broken toilet seat/tank. Bathroom window replaced by plastic bag. Very low water pressure in the shower. Water heating is only on in morning/evening, but doesn't really get hot. During our stay it was freezing, but the heating wasn't turned on. Staff was really helpful and friendly on the one hand, but forgot the booking of our transfer to Wadi Rum - double check everything you want them to do. The food offered there was average, boring and overpriced. Hostel completely overrated!

This was my second time staying at Petra Gate. We checked in and headed directly to Petra. The host insisted on transporting us there free of charge and took us other places without charge for the remainder of our trip. After our first day we asked about Turkish baths for women and they arranged it all within minutes! Breakfast and supper were 6 JD extra and were excellent. If you are just looking for a place to rest your head after a long day of hiking then this is the spot to be!

Petra Gate was one of the highlights to my stay and Petra. The entire staff was very accommodating, helpful, and just all-around amazing. Food was great and the and the ride to Petra was very courteous. My bus for light rum had a quick stop over on the way to Amman and I stopped in just to say hello. I could not give a better rating to Petra Gate. Strongly encourage everyone to tell their friends about Jordan! It is a magical place.

We stayed for two nights in the hostel an had a great time! The owner of the hostel was very welcoming and made our stay very pleasant. The Hostel offers affordable food packages for Petra as well as a good breakfast and excellent dinner for a reasonable price. It is located about 20 min walk away from the entrance to Petra, but the owner always offered to drive us to the entrance for free and a cab back was just one dinar after a little bargaining. Just a great expirience!

Nasser and the staff are awesome and super nice ! They'll help you in every possible way they can to make your trip to Petra and other spots. Location is very safe and near the site, ATM and Currency Exchange right next to the hotel and mini marts all around. Hotel is comfy, easy to find and the rooftop view is very good.

We had a great stay in the ho(s)tel. The staff was very very helpfull and friendly. The free drive to the Petra gate is a nice extra. We had dinner and breakfast there and both were very good prepared. The rooftop terrace gives great views on the mountains and city and the sunset is right in front of you !!! We reallyyyy recommend this place !!!

Don't stay here. It is a 20 minute walk from Petra (to get back it is a steep uphill climb so you have to pay $5 for a taxi). They say they will drop you off to Petra, but not when you want, only when they are going out anyway. You are woken up every morning but a loud mosque nearby. Breakfast is pretty bad and NOT included in the price (although they don't tell you this when they offer it to you - but it was only 2 Euro). Staff are fake friendly and not overly helpful / knowledgable.

Owner Comment (Hide)
I just check all your comments to all the hostels before and i sow that you were not happy with them too , any why i will leave that to our customers to judge it ? Note , it is not our problem if you pay 5 JD for the taxi drivers , and the price it is only 1 JD and if you want to walk it is only 10 Minutes --- our breakfast it is Jam, Cheese, Butter, Yogurt ,Egg , Tomato , Soft Lam , Bead , and tea or coffee
