Very friendly staff, clean hostel with cleaning service every day. Invitation to celebrate tet(vietnamese new year) with them was also great. Not the cheapest but certainly a nice one

My girlfriend and I had a very good experience in Phan Lan 2. It was clean, central to HCMC, and above all the staff was extremely attentive. The place was quiet all through the night and is just far enough off of the main drag that you can't hear the noise from the hustle and bustle. Good choice all around.

I really enjoyed my stay. The location is very good, you can easily explore the city by foot or arrange some tours at one of the many shops around the corner. The rooms are clean and spacious and the Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Thank you very much.

The cheaper rooms aren't value for money, they are next to the laundry rooms which are really noisey, the room is quite small and the shower isn't contained so everything gets wet in the bathroom. The bigger rooms are $2 more, much nicer, quiet and have good views, stay in these instead. We were moved from a big room to a smaller one on our last night :(. Staff spoke VERY good english and were very accomodating. The free breakfast did give us a bit of food poisioning both times we had it though.

Great location and walking distance to the main sights in HCM city. It was a bit of a challenge to find....it is in an alleyway parallel to the main street (there are many other hotels in the alleyway). Ask a few locals who may be able to help but watch out for those trying to get you to stay somewhere else.

Phan Lan was great - sent through an email after booking to confirm all details and staff were very friendly and very easy to talk to. They provided any help that they could and advice. The rooms were clean and nice and everything that I needed as a single traveller (private room). Breakfast was included which was simple but quick and easy. Would definitely stay back there again. Thanks!

I found the hostel at Phan Lan to be amicable, with extremely friendly and helpful staff. The location was excellent, tucked just behind the main road at Pham Ngu Lao and right in the center of the 'backpacker' area near many of the main attractions. The room was of good size, well ventilated and also included a small fridge. My only qualm was discovering what seemed to be a used condom behind the unused bed on my last night, which marred my experience - but otherwise would still recommend.

Great staff, very helpful and friendly. Location is just a short walk to all food and bars. Are planning to go back and stay here soon.

Booked 1 night initially and stayed another 4. Had small single room but had a good ensuite bathroom, air con and fan, and everyhting I need to for my stay. The room was also cleaned spotless whilst you are out daily. Good area to stay. I would assume there are other hotels which offer simular for the same price but this one gets good business beacuse the staff are so helpful and friendly, but not over the top. All guests were welcome from I could see. Recommended.

The owner of the place was very nice and accommodating with our late arrival. although the place was hard to find, it was in the center of the backpackers district which is very fun. The Hotel its self was very peaceful.

The staff was very friendly and helpful - a genuine bunch. The room was spacious and clean. The breakfast was perhaps a bit sparse, but with the price tag I am not complaining. Thanks all for the wonderful stay!

a great hotel right in the middle of Phan Ngu Lao district, very quaint! convenient walking to major attractions, market is 2 blocks away! family run place and everyone is SO nice, willing to help you organize everything, change money, book trips, anything you need help with. free breakfast in the morning which was standard but still nice to have a free cup of coffee and fruit in the morning. stayed in a private single, was SPOTLESSLY cleaned everyday. highly recommend this place!

We loved our stay there. The staff was friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean, not to mention its close proximity to the attractions of HCH. Good value for money.:)

We are so pleased with our choice to stay at Phan Lan 2. The staff were amazing helpful and friendly. We had a list of questions to begin with but they answered all of our questions and more without ever needing to ask. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfasts were complimentary, delicious, and the perfect amount. The staff went above and beyond to help me get my laptop back which was lost in the taxi on the way to the hostel. The hostel was also in the best location near everything

Stayed in a single room which was nice and clean with a basic bathroom. The staff is really helpful and friendly, the location is right in the middle of bars and restaurants (touristy area).

Phan Lan 2 was a great guesthouse, one of the best we stayed in during our 3 week trip in Vietnam. The location was really really good, right in the middle of district 1. It was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a lot of problems with the internet, it either didn't work at all or was incredibly slow which was frustrating. Otherwise though, I would recommend this guesthouse.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Saigon. The service was excelllent: the owner changed a large amount of Vietnamese currency for me at the Cental Bank rate, which saved me over three times what the nightly rate room rate was compared to using a retail currency exchange. Also, the owner was happy to coordinate with the company that I rented a motorbike from so that I didn't have to be at the hotel at the time I had agreed with the rental company.
