The staff are very nice. Although I had to change my arrived time a few times since the damned China Southern Airline delayed again and again, and I finally kept the taxi which was arranged by the hotel waiting for such a long time due to the poor airline delayed again, the staff is very patient and nice to respond to my request. In addition, the room is very clean and the location is good. I'll definitely visit it again!

Good hostel - well located. Very near where bus from Cambodia dropped us off (1 minute walk away). Staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Good hotel, the walk up to the 5th floor (6th really) was a bit draining if you just wanted a water.

Stayed for 3 nights at the start of my Vietnam travels. It's super convenient for the bus from Phnom Penh as it's in an alley just yards from where the bus stops and in a good area where every building is either a hotel, a bar, a cafe or a tour booking shop. The staff were helpful and friendly and assisted in booking coach tickets and tours when requested. While the room and decor were never going to win any prizes for interior design it had all I required, a decent bed, a/c, cable tv and fridge

The hotel was clean, the people working there are nice. The hotel is where the most hotels are. You can walk in the city direct from the hotel. The breakfast was a little poor (a bread and just an omelet and mamelade) I was anyway happy in general, the only thing I disliked is that the prices for the extra services are higher than if you book it yourself. For example the taxi for the airport ( 10 dollars vs 8 dollars)

Our hostess, Hahn, is delightful. She arranged to have a taxi meet us at the airport ($15 US, but worth it, as the place would be a little difficult to find). She met us on the street with a warm greeting. She had suggestions about getting around and things to do, arranged a tour, and was generally kind and helpful. The location is excellent, in a busy area of District 1 but well off the street in a pleasant quiet alley. We found plenty to do within walking distance .

Our stay at Phan Lan 2 was great. The staff are extremely friendly, speak English very well and happily oblige all your requests. The rooms were nice, breakfast was good and the location was convenient. The only annoyance was that you have to remove your shoes in the reception area before going up to your room, but I guess that's how they keep it so clean.

Stayed in a single room for 3 nights. Rooms, staff and location is great but its not much of a party place. If your travelling alone its not the best place to meet up with people as it doesnt have a bar or proper common area. Would still come back here though!

I give them xxx stars, because the service was very familar. Leave your shoes at the reception and become a member of the family. For example:I brought fruits from the market around the corner and they prepared them to eat, or the loundry servic and so on. Located on a very friendly backstreet, not easy to find, but only some footsteps and your in the center of Ho Chi Minh village. Falk, Germany

The location couldn't be better. You get the real feel of the city by staying right in the heart of it

My girlfriend and I had a very good experience in Phan Lan 2. It was clean, central to HCMC, and above all the staff was extremely attentive. The place was quiet all through the night and is just far enough off of the main drag that you can't hear the noise from the hustle and bustle. Good choice all around.

I really enjoyed my stay. The location is very good, you can easily explore the city by foot or arrange some tours at one of the many shops around the corner. The rooms are clean and spacious and the Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Thank you very much.

The cheaper rooms aren't value for money, they are next to the laundry rooms which are really noisey, the room is quite small and the shower isn't contained so everything gets wet in the bathroom. The bigger rooms are $2 more, much nicer, quiet and have good views, stay in these instead. We were moved from a big room to a smaller one on our last night :(. Staff spoke VERY good english and were very accomodating. The free breakfast did give us a bit of food poisioning both times we had it though.

Very clean hotel, stayed there twice on my trip. Got a double twice instead of a single. Nice roof top balcony. The breakfast is included and good (eggs, bread, cafe and juice), You can not expect much more for that price! They help you with tours, but are not pushy like other hotels, they organize airport pick-up and drop-off for reasonable money. Area is very vibrant, but the hotel is in a quiet(er) side street, maybe difficult to find first time (in my case also the second time).

Great location and walking distance to the main sights in HCM city. It was a bit of a challenge to find....it is in an alleyway parallel to the main street (there are many other hotels in the alleyway). Ask a few locals who may be able to help but watch out for those trying to get you to stay somewhere else.
