A very good hostel experience ! Scott was very lovely and outstandingly nice and the rest of the crowd, very respectful. The hostel is very close to Paddington, which made it very easy to check in at arrival before going to visit the city. Would not hesitate to stay with you again next time I'm in town. Cheers!

The Phoenix is a nice hostel in a good area. It's safe outside, there's laundry, a pub, and a restaurant up the street. The staff are very friendly and it's pretty comfortable inside. The doors have security-coded locks on them, there are lockers available (bring a padlock), and the showers are hot. I enjoyed my stay here and would recommend it to others looking for cheap lodging while backpacking. Their £1.50 breakfast is a good deal if you load up!

I originally booked for 4 nights and ended up staying for a week because I loved the vibe of this hostel. Scott at reception was incredibly friendly, warm and accomodating. Would definitely stay here again

Very cramped rooms but staff was pleasant

The hostel was very dirty. The room was way to small for the number of beds. The staff wasn't friendly. You can't use your own padlock. A stranger entered the room in the middle of the night.

Staff was very supportive and we have a happy stay at that place. Many thanks about their suport and kindness. Nice bar with good ambient. The dorm rooms are clean and not noisy. It's at 5 minutes by foot of a bus stop arriving to Stansted airport and very nearby to tube. We'll for sure repeat that place if traveling to London again. En resumen, a diferencia de otros hostels espantosos en este nos encontramos con que el personal ha sido muy amable con nosotros y el sitio es agradable.

The location of the hostel is excellent. Minimal walking distance to three tube stations. The common room had a laid back, welcoming feel with a good atmosphere. The staff was really friendly and always willing to help out with any problems, especially Scott who went out of his way to help me on a couple of occasions. The only thing I would have liked it a few more electrical outlets in my room.

All-around decent hostel, clean facilities in working order, very good location--just be careful that you realize it is at "Edgeware ROAD" metro station and not the just "Edgeware" station! They charge for things like towels, lockers, etc., but overall a reasonable value for money. No complaints here!

This hostel should invest in bunk beds that are not metal and do not creak everytime someone repositions themselves in their sleep. The hostel should also instal dimmers for the lights in the room so sleeping roomates are not disturbed. Don't expect to get a very good night sleep in the dorms for these two reasons. Also watch out for severe price discrimination on the weekends. Prices went up from $19 to $45 from Friday to Saturday.

Paper towels if possible in the bathrooms, or air dryers.

Even though this hostel is cheap and I can agree it offers kind of good value for money, the experience there was still under my expectations. Tripple bulk beds? 6-bed room was so small it literally had place only for beds and lockers. The whole hotel is dusty and dirty, including fridge which probably still contains food from the year this hostel was founded. The vibe is awful, the toilets are bad, the 1.5 pounds breakfast looks uneatable and is served in the reception desk.

Really, really SMALL room for 8 people ! there is no room to more than 4 people stay in the floor at the same time. No free lockers. And the worst: NO electric outlet avaiable in the room. There was one, but you to step in someone´s bed or in someone sleeping to reach.

The six-bed-dorms were really small and definetely not worth the money. Try to avoid the bed on top- you will have very small space to sleep...i would not recommend this hostel.

Very good location, in Marylebone, walking distance to Oxford Street. I only stayed one night in Phoenix but I really liked. Rooms are tiny but confortable, bathroom was good, breakfast (for 1,5 pounds) really complete. Wifi worked perfectly and staff was really helpful. Supermarket close. For 10 pounds thats a great deal in a city like London. For a short visit, it's a pretty cool place.
