Johnny and Paul were awesome at the front desk and welcomed you very time you came back as if you were returning home. They organised nights out where the whole hostel could go out for cheap drinks, and always had the customers in mind. Probably some of the best hostel staff I have ever met! Id recommend this hostel, especially if you are a solo traveler and love to meet new people!

The location was central. The 14 bed room is so busy with triple bunk beds, besides that it was quite nice overall. Free wi-fi, cheap breakfast etc. And its a clean place thanks to Miguel and Rosario.

good location, breakfast is worth the 1.50. could really use some upgrades and cleaning it was quite dirty compared to most hostels in europe. only having one bathroom per floor for about 25 people was pretty annoying. great tube access and great staff. love that they gave a free beer in the common room for anti facebook day to encourage talking to other travellers!

We had great service for the few nights we were there. Felt extremely welcomed by Jonathan who was working when we arrived. Both Jonathan and other staff were very helpful and were more then happy to answer any questions we had.

Hostel is amazing. I find that this is the best choice in this area (I was in a few but I think socializing here is the best). There is everything you need. Rooms are clean, beds comfy (not all of them but it really doesn't matter). Staff is really friendly, they are also socializing with visitors after working hours so basicly thats all great. Scott and rest of the stuff really for a big PLUS.

It was a nice hostel in the zone 1 and a nice common area which is a bar. It would be better if there was a kitchen tough. But generally everything was good in over all. Thanks to Rosario and Miguel the hostel was quite clean!

Hostel has a good location close to a supermarket, metro and bus stops. I enjoyed my stay here. Just the kitchen is missing and rooms are small. Special thanks to Rosario for being so friendly and for clean rooms and sheets!

So the Phoenix should be your immediate goto Hostel. Immediately I was greeted by great staff who are knowledgable and world smart. People you can just kick it with and shoot the common ish. Scott the receptionist/checkin dude/ bartender is the man. Why is Scott the man? Because of the reasons just stated. Its a fun atmosphere and definitely lucked out with the quality of people I met.

Great hostel, nice staff, very clean, comfortable, great value and location! Highly recommended for the budget traveller. The only thing is that you cannot cook--which was fine with me!

Good hostel with a nice common room. Not too far from the center so you can easily walk there, which is nice considering the price of the metro tickets. Staff is very helpful especially Jonathan who gave us good tips on what to visit (campden, market portobello)

I've been to many hostels in the last few months and, undoubtedly, this is the best. The staff are incredibly friendly and very helpful. I was unfortunate enough to have an incident which threatened the continuation of my trip, yet the staff of Phoenix assisted me in more ways than they needed to and I was able to continue. These are the guys you need on your side when travelling abroad. I am very grateful and will be returning to stay with them for the last leg of my trip.

The staff was really great and helpful everytime, no matter if it was late at night or in the morning. Great breakfast for 1,50 and cool atmosphere in general. They kept the bathrooms always clean. The only problem was that there was a cut of hot water one night but it was fixed later. Security also great.

In general for the money you pay the hostel is good. However I couldn´t sleep very wel because I was very cold at night. They should improve the heating. The bathrooms wer clean, however thair appearance in general is not very nice. A thing in favor is the security in the rooms because is not with a key but with a code; and the breakfast is very good for 1.50 pounds.

Hostel is very good if you are looking for something cheap. Good location if going to any embassy and travel by foot in London. Security is good but you have to pay extra for a locker etc.. There is no kitchen but still you are able to prepare own breakfast. Cleanliness is not high quality but still ok. There is a fungi in every bathroom but it is very hard to fight with such a thing. Staff was friendly and ok.

I was really disappointed in this hostel. I chose it basically for it's location, but other than that it was really unsatisfactory. I arrived fairly late, the man at the counter wasn't especially alert, and they wanted to charge me £5 for a towel! Also, I was assigned a room with ALL men. I chose a mixed dorm because that was all that was available, but it certainly wasn't mixed. Also, there was only one bed unoccupied in the room, but it had clearly been slept in recently! Disgusting!

I've been hostel-hopping around London to see different parts of the city, but enjoyed the Phoenix so much I decided to book another week. The staff is great and very friendly. It's very close to the tube and there's a Tesco right around the corner. I felt safe and slept really well. It's a great, laid-back spot that has a really relaxed vibe. Free wi-fi, too!
