i stayed for a few nights in phuket backpackers, the place was nice, clean and staff were only happy to help. my only tip is to not challenge the thai man to a game of pool in the downstairs bar.

Be it as it may, this place is nothin but a well run western type Hostel. Lots of young Backpackers, and a tipical hostel feel. The facilities are well kept, very clean and the deluxe rooms are really cozy and even have a lcd Tv. A little criticism may be allowed, considering that the WiFi signal does NOT reach to the Deluxe rooms, which are located in a separate building, with no common space. The bar makes up for that and is a good place to socialize.

We had a private double room and it was very nice. The AC did work properly and the room felt fresh. The staff was not very good in english, but very helpful. The commonroom was cozy and the little pub/restaurant next door was quite cool.

Great hostel for a one night stop in phuket town. the staff were helpful and booked us our bus trip to the phi phi boat. The rooms were a little noisy because we were right at the front of the building with windows out to the busy street. Also the lights were on timers and you couldnt turn them off to sleep until they were all turned off quite late. but it was cheap and clean and the bathrooms were fairly good. not so much a party party hostel but fine for one night between places.

Nice backpackers in a great location. Right next to the bus stop for all the local beaches and there are a number of vegetarian restaurants just down the road.

Can't get much better than this I reckon. In Phuket Town the scene isn't great for partying so maybe consider Patong Beach. but as far as location, staff, quality of beds etc. was pleasantly surprised. Would definitely go back.

Not a lot of privacy in this hostel. Beds are decent and the bathrooms are pretty clean.

Good hostel, with great facilities. The dorms are spotless.

The AC not being on in the middle of the day in the "AC rooms" was killer.. the rooms got really stuffy and incredible hot and were not really bearable to stay in. The toilets were always wet and dirty and were not really that well kept. no character and very little interaction between travelers available. drink tickets were not accepted since the bar downstairs had ran out of beer. not great customer service either from the staff. not very friendly people.

The establishment is more than basic, I don't see how they can improve that. This place is good for very young, not fussy people on a budget but for me was a total disappointment and mind you I'm a bit older but do hostels. The way the place is sold on hostelworld (pictures etc.) is very misleading, it looks ten times better on the net, so "bravo" for that!

Staff had great english, were able to tell you were to get buses from, how to get to shopping centre and organise boats for you at reasonable prices! Stayed there twice in private rooms. Both times, rooms were very clean and spacious. Hostel has a great, relaxed atmosphere, free internet, flat screen tv in the lounge with comfy couches and you can watch their dvd's (hundreds to select from for your private rooms!) Stayed there a second time and would always stay here from now when i'm in phuket!

Air conditioning was set to too cold during nights so I had to wear a lot of clothing when trying to sleep.

Love this hostel, such a clean nice place, staff are really helpful with a really good vibe. Massive collection of DVDs, a bar/restaurant and lockers for your things. Best place I've stayed in Phuket, easy to get to the beaches and the hostel provides good tours, taxis and ferry services for good prices!

Great atmosphere: backpackers all over, great info on cheap travel, helpful staff, and a welcome drink (before 11pm). But, like any hostel, the bathrooms were a bit grimy. That said, would definitely come again.

The backpacker is not bad, but the security is a problem. I was stolen money from my room, somebody entered in my room and stole money from my backpack.
