- Security: small lockers, backpacks do not fit into them, your belongings must be with you all the time or use the small lockers just for important things. Share rooms are always iluminated - Location / Staff: close to local bus station, not to intercity bus station, last one was moved outside the city, well located and public transportation is always available. Staff always in the mood to help foreigners. - Cleanliness: Hot water machines are not working.

Location is in the centre of Phuket and found there wasn't much to do, but this hostel is great if you are just stopping over!

nice place to stay in phuket town ... really convenience as the buses to kata & karon beach just located outside the hostel ... the bathroon were clean and the movie night with other travellers was great !!!

Excellent Hostel, enjoyed the stay.

Very clean and comfortable, staff were helpful and friendly and if you're ever bored there are a ton of movies to choose from. Breakfast was very cheap and very good.

Excellent hostel in the heart of phuket town! Social meeting point, too. Had a great time there!

Phuket Backpacker is a very good hostel. Been there several times and it is always a good experience. A really good realxed atmosphere and the staff is friendly and helpful.

The staff was super helpful and the place was very clean. There wasn't much to do around the hostel and had to take a bus or taxi to get places. It's a great place to stay for a night or two.

Our group arrived very late at night (12:30), the front gate was locked but with someone at the front desk 24hrs a day that was not a problem. We stayed one night in a 4 bed room. The "room" was more like a cubical, very small and basic (2 bunk beds 2 fans) but clean. There were several of these four bed cubicals created in a larger room. No large lockers for luggage but there are smaller lockers for valuables. Breakfast was very good.

Very nice and clean hostel located directly in the old town of Phuket. The staff is helpfull and they have just every day a little attraction like a walk in the city or on a market. I would definitifely stay there again.

Phuket Backpacker hostel was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. Phuket town doesn't have much to do at all but it was a good starting place and its easy to catch the local buses to other parts of Phuket for 25THB. Our room was right next to the road so was quite noisy, I would try get a room further away from the road and definitely opt for an airconditioned room if you arent used to the heat. All round it was a nice and tidy place to stay.

A pretty good hostel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean it was close to restaurants. There was a free heritage tour offered by the staff and this was pretty good. If you're in Phuket town I would definitely recommend staying here.

Nice Hostel, and worth the money. Great common room with great DVD collection. You can't do anything wrong going there.

Staff was very unfriendly at the morning. Location was OK. Unfortunately we don´t met much people. May they all in there rooms with WIFI??? Garden inside is very nice to sit in the evening.

I had a great stay at Phuket Backpackers! The buses to the beaches are just outside of the hostel. The staff is friendly and are able to tell you a lot about Phuket. I would recommend staying here in Phuket Towninstead of Patong Beach!

Clean, convenient, comfortable, huge tv, bathroom fine, good security.... Was good value for money

1)Some of the staff attitude are very poor. only 1/2 staff attitude are acceptable & helpfull. 2)Advance booking being make but the room are not ready until the guess are check in.-Waste of time.

Pretty good hostel all in all. Nice staff, good bedrooms. Double beds were just two singles pushed together, and on wheels so they separated during the night which became a bit annoying. Also, make sure to take note of where you want to go within Phuket. This is in Old Phuket Town, where there is not that much to do tourist wise. In a way it was good to start out here, you get to see a lot more of what "real" Thailand is like. Cheap, good food everywhere. Staff were helpful in booking Thanks :)

i stayed for a few nights in phuket backpackers, the place was nice, clean and staff were only happy to help. my only tip is to not challenge the thai man to a game of pool in the downstairs bar.
