Yes the stairs are quite a bit! But you can also get dropped off a street above and only climb a few stairs down to get to the hostel. Communal spaces exceptionally inviting and warm. I stayed in a room that had a sky window so I slep under the moon that night!

Lovely site with beautiful rooms and a great view of Cusco. Only about a 5 minute walk from Plaza del Armas and 10 from San Pedro Market. Breakfast was nice and simple with fresh juice, bread, jams and butter, granola and oats, milk, and yogurt. Would definitely recommend staying here if you need a quiet place and boutique-y feel without the associated cost.

Laid back place, which is a great value for the money. I had a private room with a hot shower, AC, and a balcony. The walk is about fifteen minutes from the port, or you can take a cab for $1. The lady who runs the place is super friendly, and it was kept very clean.

Our stay at Piccola Locanda was incredible. Their staff go above and beyond in making you feel welcome and taking care of everything you need. Great location just a short walk down to the Plaza (though the stairs are sometimes not fun, especially if you're returning from hiking Machu Picchu). Only complaint: if you have them set up a taxi to pick you up from airport or train station, remember to still negotiate fare with driver. Our taxi from Ollantaytambo back to Cusco was very expensive.

The hostel was great! It is located just off the square up some stairs, so great for some early acclimatization. Room was clean, and they even provided a space heater and additional blankets (which we were very grateful for!). Enough shared bathrooms that it was never an issue and the shower had hot water and was always clean. Breakfast was yummy and we had a lovely time. This was a perfect hostel for slightly older people looking for private rooms but trying to keep costs down. Thank you!
