I have never seen such disgusting carpet in my life. Throughout the entire building it was so old and grotty looking. Then in the bedrooms, it was so stained and grotty. All in all it was a very traumatic experience.

Clean and comfy and good location, staff a little odd and slightly smelt like an old people's home, not much atmosphere but good as a base.

Manager is sometimes very helpfull at other times NOT! A 10-15 min. walk from the ferry terminal but they do have a service where they provide a drop off 4 times a day. Big plus for the free spa.

The location is fantastic - if you're coming off the ferry with a big bag (as I was), it's a great place to stay. It's generally pretty clean, although it wasn't very busy when I was there and the staff seem almost too relaxed. The one who showed me around when I arrived began by telling me that he'd been drinking for the entire day up to that point. Picton is a pretty safe place, but the lack of security might bother some. There are lockers, but they cost, and the rooms remain unlocked.

This is a lovely homely backpackers, which is close to the ferry and town. The views from the upstairs terrace are gorgeous. Great little place!

Great location and easy to find when walking from the ferry terminal. However the hostel feels like a room just to stay the night while you explore around this beautiful scenic town.
