Excellent! The drain in our shower took a while to clear the water but other than that (small issue) it was a great stay. Highly recommended.

Great Place in the Old town of pingyao - Family Deng run a good organized hostel and all of them can answer every question.

Unfortunately, while most aspects of my stay was good, I "felt nickel and dimed", food bad, beer expensive and I learned to buy next door where beer was always cold and cheap. Tour arrangements could be made but you could not be provided guarantees that they would get the train ticket to Xi`an that they promise. Makes planning quite difficult. However, on average I would recommend this hostel, but am sure you could do better if you search inside the wall.

Great location and friendly staff. The Hostel room was quite aged/basic but that's not suprising given the age of the building.

Staff were great when we arrived at 7am by finding a room for us to rest in until ours was ready. The actual room was a good size but the floor was dirty, and the shower not great. The courtyard and reception area had all you needed. We took the day tour to the Wang courtyard and tunnels which was excellent!

Very disappointed. The hot water was luke warm at best. Both nights we found big scary bugs under the bed. The floor between the bed and the bathroom is stone, ok it's old and adds character, but it also hasn't been washed for 100 years so when you step out of the shower and walk to the bed your feet are putrid black !!! Other guests said their floor was the same. Worst was Sara. We didn't get our 10% deposit back! Beware good Lonely Planet reviews coz once they have it, service goes way down.

Stayed in the double rooms, which had one gigantic bed wall to wall. Quite hard mattress but comfortable. Day trip to Mian Shan was great: fun gorges to climb up on wodden ladders, numerous Buddhist and Taoist temples hugging he cliffs of the valley.

Great place to stay, friendly staff. Mrs Deng and one of the girls from the hostel came with us for a day trip to Mianshan which was good fun. The food was great, really enjoyed the banana pancakes for breakfast and the stir fried beef was delicious.

Good place, Owner wery nice, speak english ok, friendly atmosphère, you can eat there and have transportation to the train and bus.

Lovely place with bags of character. The staff are very helpful. Nice location for exploring Pingyao.
