Great hostel, right above a pub with plenty of discounted meals and drinks for backpackers! Apart from a slightly small kitchen for such a large amount of guests, the facilities are good, cleaners are efficient and helpful and the atmosphere is friendly and fun.

Pretty nice hostel, above a quaint British pub. Cleanliness was average but good noise levels if you need a good nights sleep. Good location between Chapel st and St Kilda Beach. Lots of long-termers but they were all quite welcoming. Terrible kitchen equipment (no knives, few working hot plates). Good deals in the bar downstairs but the food in the pub is definitely questionable and quite pricey. Do not buy soda water at the bar, it is $6 a pint! Hot showers, clean beds and friendly staff.

Included breakfast and free wifi. That is basically it. Pub downstairs seems to get all the attention from the owners and other staff.

The staff is friendly and helpful. The only thing that annoyed me was the fact that the room was too smelly.

Stayed here for a week when we first arrived in Melbourne, rooms are good size and clean. Also great location, The pub downstairs does really good backpacker meals for $6 so ya never go hungry!! The greatest thing about staying here is the friendly atmosphere in the pub, this especially applies to the staff who are always great craic and really helpful (big shout out to Joe and "the Dan".....if Carlsberg did barmen!!!) . Would 100% recommend staying here.....we will definitely come back again.

Stay here was pleasant enough, main problem was that the kitchen and common room was tiny given the number of people crammed into the hostel.

Lively pub downstairs, good events every night. Backpacker meals deals were a good size portion. Reception hours say 8-midnight and I arrived at 9pm. Reception was closed but you go to the pub bar and check in there. The rooms are cleaned daily. Clean towels and bedding provided. The kitchen is small but does the job. The social room always has a good crowd in it. The wifi signal is good. The staff are really helpful in the bar/reception especially one girl and joe was helpful, polite & a laugh

This was a great location for visiting the Grand Prix right near Albert park. Rooms cleaned everyday, showers ok mostly hot, adequate kitchen facilities, free breakfast, cheap drink and food offers in pub-really good food!! Very Irish, lot of long term stayers I was upgraded due from 6-2 bed when I arrived, which was nice, had a tv in the room! DVD player in communal lounge, no issues with this hostel I would stay there again if I went back to Melbourne.

It was very cool to stay at an Irish pub. I was given meal and drink deals and could easily go grab a cold pint whenever I was thirsty. Yet, the staff isn't readily available all the time, there's no air conditions in the rooms, and the beds feel terrible. I give it an average rating overall.

The whole hostel has smelled of alcohol, because most of the guests were drunken. Therefore, it was also only possible to sleep with earplugs. The shower facilities were very old and looked not clean. The free provided internet was slow and worked not constantly. The breakfast was also not so great, but totally ok for the price.

The free breakfast is nice and we loved the 6$ dinner for the backpacker. Good size for the little prize :)

Expensive due to tennis. The hostel is ok, rooms are messy though and internet slow or not working. The bar downstairs is a nice place to hangout. After breakfast you should go behind the bar to do the dishes which was a bit funny...

We booked a private room and we got very satisfied. The hostel was full of young travellers and the atmosphere was nice and respectful. The pub in the ground floor gives the hostel a nice atmosphere and a convenient possibility for a meal without looking further. The kitchen was small to be really useful but still is good to have it.

Lots of messy longtermers staying in this hostel. Internet is only working from time to time. It's a good walk to St. Kilda and the beach, for everything else you would have to take public transport. The breakfast is actually alright, as well as the pub downstairs. They have good offers for backpackers and good bands playing.

Very friendly staff! Rooms were small but worth what you pay. Beds were comfy and shower facilitates were excellent! Discounts on drinks and food at the bar for staying customers was very handy :)
