The double room with ensuite we stayed in was laughably small, but they are trying to expand some of the rooms to give more space. However, the hostel has nice common areas to hang out in (one on the roof, one in the courtyard), which make up for this. Breakfast was decent (cereal, fruit, coffee, toast, and even pancakes one day). The staff were nice and helpful. The location in a quiet spot on 59th is ideal for walking in the old town.

Hotel El Pirata deserves its name. When we first arrived to the Hotel El Pirata, tiredness, error of date due to 29th of February… We paid in advance 7 nights instead of the 6 that we will remain there. Although we notified the error 3 days before checking out, the hotel does not want to refund the 300 mex $ paid for the extra night. This, perhaps has a name: pirate…Then the bedroom with shower is the size of a bed, you can enter in only sideway because you can't open the door. Etc...

Nothing amazing but it was a fine stay. Pros: Good location. Kitchen is ok. Plenty of pots, plates and an old 2 plate gas cooker and a niceish view. Nice area to chill down the bottom. Clean toilets. good shower. Cons. Staff felt bit disengaged. Breakfast was average. Cold toast and cereal. Bad cofee. Our double room with bathroom was nice but tiny; A small room already and then they've just stuck a shower and toilet in leaving hardly any room. Internet was slow and electrocuted me.

dorm room so dark one needs the light on even in the daytime. kitchen passable but on windy rooftop (keep your eye on the flame, as it tends to blow out frequently). bathrooms below par: shower floor quite dirty and you almost always need to ask staff for toilet paper... altogether an avoidable hostel in an avoidable town.

No kitchen, no water after 12pm. Good beds, and breakfast is okay. Staff is okay but not flexible, don't to work too hard. Could be an amazing hostel, but definitely is not.

Hotel propre. Bonne accueil. Situé dans une rue très calme et colorée. Les chambres sont un peu petites mais agréables. Proche de toutes les activités.

Apart from the lovely welcome and the good service of the guys at the reception, the rooms were to small and the mattresses small and battered. Every morning we had no water for shower and sink because of the loud pump beside of the dorms. After short call it was fixed.

Good location in the old part of the city, within walking distance of the centre. Staff were nice and though we booked for two nights we were only charged for one as we arrived at 6 a.m. I'd recommend it!

This place was truly horrible. If you have allergies or breathing difficulties (asthma, etc.) you should NOT stay here. The building itself smells musty. I am allergic to some molds and woke up with difficulty breathing and a headache. The sheets, mattress and pillows all were stained. I had to step over air conditioner wires at night to use the bathroom. There was also some very questionable wiring . Wireless?" Yes, but I don't know the code." and wouldn't call to find out. Stay elsewhere.

In the private roomt the bathroom is in the room but only separated by a sliding door so your partner can listen and smell everything you do in there. In addition it's not very clean: our shower had the previous guests' used soaps still there. The room is so tiny we almost didn't space space to place our 2 backpacks in there. No window either, poor ventilation.. very hot even with the fan on. We didn't have water in the night we arrived or morning and no one cared much. Breakfast was very poor
