Beds are terrible, the hostel is incredibly disorganised - no one ever knew what bed was free or if there was even space in the room. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.

The rooms are VERY dirty and messy. Couldn't find the free beds because they were covered by all the stuffs of the other people of the room... Couldn't walk in the rooms because the floor was also covered. Had to fight with 3 cockroaches in the shower. One night my friend wanted to go to sleep and find another guy in her bed... Don't go there. Friendly staff but not efficient. No keys, doors always open so no security.

I really enjoyed my time at Planet Inn. I actually just wanted to stay 1 night, but it became a few more and I would have stayed longer. The house is an old building, but very beautiful, clean, painted in bright, nice colors and the rooms were just renovated. But some mattresses were a bit thin. I read a few bad comments about the staff and I don't know why, because I found the staff very nice and helpful.

Planet In was really good ! Friendly and very helpful staff. Always at your service for any questions, etc. There was a really good atmosphere in the hostel. You know everyone after 5 minutes. You can chill outside or inside. Big telly, plenty of books if you like to read or you can just sit somewhere and have a laugh with someone. Also free wifi available in most of the hostel. I have to admit, the kitchen is a bit to small, but that makes it nice and cosy and an ideal to meet new people

It a 10 minutes bus ride out of town but it is the cheapest place in Perth. It still has a party scene but was pretty mellow when we were there. Nice back patio.

Terrible hostel, unfriendly staff! One day I woke up at 8, had a shower when I came back the whole room was empty including beds and my bag, phone, ipad was gone. I found my bag back in a closet (open!!) with 8 other bags and my stuff was everywhere, after 2 hours I found my phone and Ipad. At 1 at night the beds where still not back in the room. I lost some stuff as a cardigan, shirt and a book they didn't want to give me anything for that. The english girl at the reception was really rude.

We had a fun time with the other backpackers in this hostel, but the staff, especially one, is really unfriendly. We had an argument with him and he was more than rude. We left because we dont want to stay in a hostel with such staff. It's also dirty and chaotic. We had to change rooms 3 times(!), the matresses in the beds are thin, so get ready for backpain if you want to move there. People always have to sleep on the couch because the managment cant deal with online bookings. Don't go there.

Hello, I'm sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay at Planet Inn Backpackers. We have just had a renovation where all dorm rooms have been freshly painted and floors sanded. Cleanliness and comfort is of course our main priorities and further steps have been taken to ensure our guests have a comfortable stay. I apologise that you found our staff to be unfriendly and rude. Unfortunately at this time of year, we are in peak season and as a result, if beds arent rebooked in advance, they may lose their bed to an online booking as we operate on a first come first serve basis. We do not offer the couch as an alternative. Many thanks, Laura Manager

Stayed in the 14 bed dorm which is only 16$ a night which is worth it. Lots of backpackers which makes for a good atmosphere. Don't know if I would recommend it for a long term stay but definitely good if you are looking for a cheap place to stay.. has to be the cheapest hostel in Perth. There is also a free bus to the city but its only a 15 minute walk otherwise. Would stay here again.

Where do I start? Arrived to a building site, could not check in to room in p.m so came back at 10pm an still couldn't! Got put into the 'staff' room - unlocked/no lockers/the messiest room i've ever stayed in! Next morning there was no water in the hostel so no showers etc! Still had to climb over builders the following days! BIGGEST mistake by them, reception said they'd save a room for us, so we went out for the day, we came back at 9pm only to be told she was looking at the wrong month!

Hello, Unfortunately unscheduled maintenance does creep upon us where it effects the water and other essentials that backpackers need. All guests are provided with keys and as the doors do not automatically locked when closed, it is down to the guests to maintain that it is locked. During night time, the front door is locked to maintain security. We can only hold any 'saved' beds for a certain amount of time without payment (normally 2 hours max) and after this time has lapsed, we reserve the right to sell the bed. I can only apologise about the incident with reception and I am sure they would have done all they could to provide a solution. Thankyou for your time

No electricity or water till the afternoons due to maintenance work going on which I was not told about untill the morning. No air con and my room didn't have a window that opened so it was obviously unbearable especially at night. I couldn't have a key for my room as there wasn't enough for everyone! It was only $16 a night which is really good value si guess you pay for what you get. Staff were very friendly and always poliet.

Hello, Being a hostel, it is extremely difficult finding times to carry out the maintenence work but when unscheduled problems arrive that impact on the water, it is essential they are dealt with ASAP. I can assure you that all water problems are now fixed. All rooms are fitted with either 1 or 2 ceiling fans as we do not advertise as having aircon. Thankyou for your review

Hello, I'm sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your stay. Our Wifi is free and its use is limited between 12am-8am to prevent downloading which results in a better service for you during the day. The shower has been fixed since the time of your posting. We are situated just a 5 minute free bus ride away from the city and just a 10 minute walk to the Northbridge center so you get the best of both worlds, a quiet hostel thats close to the party scene if that is what you fancy.

I spent 1 night in the planet inn backpacker and didn't really like it. The hostel looks really dirty, i don't think it's because they don't clean but more because all the furniture in the TV room and in the rooms are really old. The carpet in the room, the matress and the blanket were definetly dirty and it's really not pleasant to sleep there. The bathrooms were ok.But it's cheap and the staff is nice
