Mr. Paprika is a nice person - he helps you out, when not knowing around. as matter of fact we could not join in for the shantel dj-set he asked us to... we shared the roof top room with own balcony - nice to sit out there. the only thing that usually is a problem for me are the beds and also here; the mattress had some springs in it, so sleeping, for me as a bellyside sleeper, was kind of stressful. But also in the next hotel in istanbul we experienced the same...

This is a very quaint little hostel on the edge of takism. Mr Paprika and his staff are truly wonderful people, so helpful and welcoming. The hostel was very clean but the rooms are small. My only complaint is that even though I had a booking well in advance there was no room for me, I was just lucky I had made friends staying elsewhere so I could crash there. Admittedly, Mr Paprika did offer us his apartment further out of town, which was very kind. Wifi was good. Security was poor.

This is such a homely hostel. The staff are beyond amazing, it has a great vibe, it's in a brilliant location, a great base for Istanbul!! Would definitely recommend!!

Really enjoyed the staff and how they accommodated me, very friendly, warm and welcoming. Only issue was the shower head wouldn't stay in a good position to left it on the clip on the wall. Other than that, very relaxed atmosphere.

It's a greet place to stay if you want to visit the touristic sight and at the same time enjoy the best nightlife venues that Istanbul has to offer. I really liked the owner and staffs' attitude towards the guest, friendly and open.

Great staff, good location, but the 8 bed dorm was so messy and the bathroom is filthy. The staff live in the room when it's not full and leave their stuff in there all the time. The girl who showed us to our room was completely drunk and did not give us a key, but when we saw one in the door we assumed it was ours. Nope! Not our key because you don't get one. The room is left open all the time and the lockers are not big enough for a bag so security is basically zero. Would never return.

The location is very close to Istikla st. & Takseem Sq. Which made it very close to the economical centre of the City. Never the less, it was quiet (relatively) on all days. the only drawback was that our room was on the last (fourth) floor, there was no elevador and the stairs where very narrow which we noticed to be the nature of lots of buildings in Istanbul

I really enjoyed my stay at this hostel and would stay there again. The staff are fantastic, the location is excellent (close to Taksim but still in a quiet street), the rooms are spacious and comfortable and the beds are really okay. Some minuses: the common areas are too small for a hostel this size, the lighting makes the hostel feel a bit dull and sterile, and its quite inconvenient to take showers because of the small size of the bathrooms. But on the whole I was very happy at the hostel.

it was cool that the receptionist and owner took the guests out on the town, but about 10 of us were locked out because there was no staff to let people in. That's just a bad idea. guests always need access to the hostel so long as there aren't lock-out hours.

Great location and good staff, but painfully slow or disconnecting internet (first world problem I know), and sensor lights in the bathroom that have a very short delay, means your flaling your arms around a lot to keep the lighton!
