we had a great stay at planeta hostel! the staff was friendly and helpful, the facilities very well maintained and clean. only a couple of small issues that we experienced...the sheets in the double room are threadbare and could be replaced, and the price is high for a shared bath. we paid the same rate (220 pesos per night) at other hostels for a double with private bathroom. and bring earplugs!!

This is a very nice hotel in the downtown of Esquell (be aware the Lonely PLanet 2010 shows a wrong adress and location on the map!!!!). we stayed in the double room which is to the back yard,so quiet and also clean. The common bath rooms are okay and clean and there was always place to go in. The staff was friendly and helpfull as we stranded in the very early morning and the town was still asleep for some hours more.

Nice, clean hostel with really great bathooms and good kitchen. Owner speaks basic english and gives good information. Nightclub at the opposite side of the street kept us up on weekend, otherwise location is good. Breakfast is above average with cereal, bread and coffee.
