Beds are far to soft. It felt like sleeping in a hammock… Family run place with very friendly staff. Enough showers, no towels.

The hot tub is must!

Very clean hostel. The bed was a little uncomfortable, but the bathroom and shower facilities were phenomenal. There was also a hot tub available for private booking. The atmosphere was dreadfully dull. Neither the village, nor the hostel had much going on. Do the crossing and move on, but don't linger.

Probably the cleanest backpackers that I stayed in while in NZ! Good location for walking Tongariro, handy for National Park train station. The hot tub was most welcome after walking the Northern Circuit. The only thing that the hostel lacks is a proper drying room, but the staff were very helpful in providing some space to hang wet clothes, and start drying boots.
