Lovely lounge/kitchen area with wood burner and well equipped kitchen for self catering. Comfy beds, really helpful staff who know all the local guiding companies. Only slight downside no lockers in rooms for valuables

Not enough plugs for everybody in the room. Atmosphere was good. Clean and peaceful. Hot tub was good

We loved how welcoming everyone was. The spa was fantastic. The Plateau Lodge was the nicest place we stayed in this price range.

Nicest bathrooms I have ever seen in a hostel! Very cosy communal area with heater. Ideal place to stay if doing the crossing. Lodge offers transfers to and from the start/finish.

Plateau lodge has the price of a hostel but it doesn't feel like a hostel. The common area (kitchen/living room) is very clean and comfortable to use. The free hot tub was amazing and very handy after the long walk at the Tongoriro crossing. Would definitely stay there again!

Stayed here to do the crossing, unfortunately we had to extend because of poor weather. Rooms were good but feels a bit cramped. Kitchen was good. Bathrooms were clean and look great. Sinks in each room. Hot tub is a must! Crossing can be booked with the front desk. Location Doesn't really have anything else besides the crossing although staff will be helpful. Bunk beds should a ladder!

Loved my stay here! The room was clean, shower was roomy, lounge was warm and comfortable. And the staff was so sweet and inviting. They really helped my out by letting me use their phone and so on when the weather was not going my way and I had to change plans. Highly recommend this place!!

Beds are far to soft. It felt like sleeping in a hammock… Family run place with very friendly staff. Enough showers, no towels.
