Pros: Well located in Palermo, and about 10mins walk to the Subte station; friendly, helpful staff; cool vibe at times; generally clean despite looking run down in areas Cons: Lockers suck, just a wooden box, barely fits a small bag; paper thin walls mean you may get kept awake by others outside; the smell of cigarette smoke seems to creep its way into everywhere, although that will depend on the current bunch of hostellers; showers take a while to get hot Overall: Not bad, not amazing
Unfortunately we also were made to pay a ridiculous exchange rate of 7.5 because we booked in US dollars, my suggestion is book in Argentinian pesos if you choose to stay here as the owners will claim that the price of a 6 bed dorm is 85 pesos (as opposed to 71 pesos which is listed on hostel world), which in our opinion is to much for the facilities. In 12 months of travel we have never experienced a problem like this. Be careful.
I was looking forward to my stay at Play Hostel but it was very disappointing. The staff made us change rooms for no reason, the toilets didnt work, the showers didnt work most of the time either. The staff came to yell at me in the morning that i had to leave the hostel though i had booked for another night and to top it all of they charged us a lot more money than the prices on hostelworld. DONT GO HERE!
some of the toilets (flush, water) didnt work all the time. the owner wanted to charge me more than the price in hostelworld. with regard to his opinion it's normal to pay a dollar peso rate of 1:7,5 when you sleep in his hostel. so he wants to charge the people the dollar price you get in hostelworld times 7,5. if you read the terms and conditions in hostelworld the bill has to be paid in the currency of a country in the most recent rate and not in the rate the owner would like to get.
Best breakfast ever on a hostel! Lockers could be better ...
Thanks to the staff for helping me with tips and where to go. Really appreciate it! Just one thing ,there was very few glasses, tea cups, plates, etc. one day many ppl was using all the silverware and the glasses/cups so some of us had to wait for the others to finish using them.

Cozy stay right in quaint neighborhood of Palermo. 6 block walk to two different subway stops and main road Santa Fe. Good WIFI, good showers, comfy beds, lockers available. They provide sheets and towels. TV for viewing in main lounge area. Annoying if it rains because there is open space within the hostel that just gets wet. I would imagine that it is great if the sun is out. Great for price! Breakfast is nothing special but definitely edible. I would go back.
great location, great breakfast, nice staff, definitely recommended!
