Nice and helpful staff, chillout location by a quiet beach, and a beach bar! The bathrooms were not very clean and smelly. the separations were kind of blurry glass/plastic, you would see the silhouette of the person peeing next to you, disturbing :p at least they were not gender mixed - the dorms were big and with lockers. the bad things were that the beds were very shacky, the mattresses sunk down and because of the metallic roof, it was very hot! despite the two fans

Place had a great location right next to the beach and a good bar with food. Pretty quiet and chilled, good for relaxing.

It's basically a beach paradise where you only need to walk 20 or so metres between your bed, the bar/restaurant and the beach - what's not to love?! We went for a couple of chilled nights but ended up staying 3 more and partying with the staff who were all awesome. That said, the bar is far enough from the hostel so that you can avoid it if it's not your thing. If it hadn't been the start of my trip I probably would have stayed here for weeks - can't recommend it enough!

great stay, great place!

The location of the hostel is one of the best I've seen, directly on the beach. The beach is great for swimming, very clean with no rocks and with no vendors to bother you like most other beaches in the area. The staff was very accommodating, letting us stay later than check out time when our ride was delayed. The private room was plain but clean and very big in size (pillows were rock hard). The dorms were also very nice. The drinks at the restaurant were fantastic but the food was terrible.

You can not miss out on this place if you are in and around Santa Marta it is a perfect hostel! Set on its own private beach with a bar and really chilled, cool vibe. Everyone staying there warned me I would ended up staying longer...I did and booked more nights! It is only 7 mins from a big supermarket and 20 from santa marta on the bus. It has a big kitchen, big dorms, lockers, fans. It's all you need for a relaxing time chilling with a book, watching the sunset and taking a little time out.

Great location next to the beach, far away from everything if your plan is to stay at the hostal all day and just relax and drink beer

I just loved it. Such a beautiful and peaceful place, it feels like a little paradise. Beach right in front of the hostel, great atmosphere and lovely, warming staff with such a personal attention that I felt as they were close friends, I don't think there's a better place to stay in Santa Marta. Some imporvments in the privates would make this hostel just perfect

Having traveled a fair bit, i dare to say this is definitely one of the most amazing hostels encountered. It goes right up the list with "Casa Roja" (Santiago de Chile) & the Loki's (Peru & Ecuador). They will welcome you with open arms, tell you all about the Colombia, they love. Show you where, how and when to go visit; the National parc of Tyron, Taganga, Santa Marta, Minca,... All this ON a Caribbean beach, what to ask more? Food, well the restaurant is amazing!! Enjoy, you will...

The nicest hostel I ever stayed at! The whole staff creates a very warm and welcoming atmosphere, you feel like in a big family there.

Far from the city center (20min by taxi/bus), but an excellent place to chill out, right in front of the beach.
