Miss Betty is quite a character, an expat of ~40 years, and is quite knowledgeable about art (she has a gallery full of downstairs). She ensures that there are banannas, cereal, bread, and milk available for a do it yourself breakfast, as well as potable drinking water. Think of it as an open dorm type setup on the second floor with a separate, street access gate. Quite charming.

Betty is such a lovely lady , great place to stay , a stone's throw from centre of town , you can help yourself to breakfast in the morning , for me , one of the best hostels I've stayed in anywhere .

The owner Betty is a really friendly American retiree. The staff that works with her is very friendly and respectful - Jose took the time to walk me to the nearest supermarkets and help me get a phone. Only complaint is that the wifi signal is not great, but it rarely is in the DR. Definitely recommend.

Great place in the middle of the Colonial Zone. Great place to stay. I would definitely recommend for Santo Dominto

Good location, and Bettye the host is lovely! Had the hostel been full it would have been a little tight, there is a lot of beds and not a lot of room! However we were only two people staying so all good!

We had a two bed room and it was nice and really clean. The hostel is close to the shopping street 'calle el conde'.
