booked accomodation online. photographs are VERY deceiving. walked in, WALKED OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!. you couldn't pay me to stay there! the entrance for the hostel is off a crummy garage, you walk up a dingy looking, poorly lit stairwell and you walk into a smokey, damp smelling room. its awful. mould on the roof and you get this sickening feeling that someone might break into your room at night while you sleeping. DO NOT BOOK INTO THIS HOSTEL. price and location and false advertising for sure!

The man at the reception was very nice and helpful. Nice view from the terrace. However, the hostel didn't look very clean and the rooms were smelling to cigarrete. At night, the staff of the hostel and friends of them, together with some guests had a party at the common area, which is right next to the rooms. We couldn't sleep at all since they only stopped around 3 in the morning when we complained.

Unfortunately we had problems with our booking. The host didn't have a confirmation although I had received a confirmation via email. Not sure who's fault that was. We had to change from a 4 and 2 bed room to a 8 bed mixed dorm and a 2 bed room. The host was very friendly and polite in doing this for the dorm price. Nevertheless it was a bit annoying... The hostel itself has a great view from the balcony, a braai facility and a big common room. The bunk beds were a bit unstable.

We booked a double room and the one we got wasn't in the backpacker building itself. It was in the slightly dodgy backyard. The room itself could have potential for a nice room, but most of the furniture (kitchen) was broken and there was mould on most of the walls. Lightbulbs were missing and the sink dripped (probably had a lack) everytime we used it. The linen wasn't really clean. Although in the main building they had a nice roof terrace (facing the sea) and the owner was friendly.

We were given a room around the corner/backside of the hostel. This room was very poor in hygiene. Fungals grew everywhere, kitchen cabins were broken, dirt on the floor... just disgusting unfortunately. Because our room was not inside the hostel and we did not use the facilities there we can hardly say anything about that. Comparing this hostel to lots of other hostels and lodges in South Africa this was a poor performance.

The spot of the hostel is just in the center of town, they have an amazing view of the bay from their huge balcony, which has braai facilities. It has a pool table which is fine and a very friendly staff. Everything else was terrible, it look like a big old flat the needed some seriously renovation. There where mold a lot of places. In our room the electricity did not work, but the staff was kind to give us an extension cord. Do not stay here if you want to spent some time in the hostel.

Very very noisy place above a petrol station on Plett's Main Street. This was by far the worst value for money backpackers on an entire 2 week trip along the Garden Route. Owner was quite unpleasant although other staff very friendly. Not the place to go if you want a decent night's sleep but if you are out partying and not needing to sleep sure it is fine. View is good but place lacks atmosphere and could do with a bit of doing up. Have stayed in much better for less money.

Very good Hostel! The Staff there are always friendly and will do everything to help..Strongly Recommended!!

Very friendly couple running the backpackers, lovely people. Great view from the deck at the back. Only thing was it was a little hard to find but great location.

Ben, the owner, is rad! Beautiful view from the balcony (not sure the pictures do it justice) and we really enjoyed the clean, carpeted rooms and the Brai.

Ben and Joadie are very friendly, very helpful and very good company.

really above average beds and cleanliness, and the outdoor deck with the view of the beach is spectacular. The best backpackers I've ever stayed in (out of a total of 30-40)

Only stayed one night in the double room, but was enough to catch the stunning view from their balcony. The hosts were wonderful, too, and gave us a fantastic tip on where to have cheap and yummy breakfast (thanks guys!). Plett is a safe and pretty city, and though small, had a couple of clubs/bars to check out. The place is clean and tidy, too. Overall, great stay!

Great place, great hospitality. I look forward to visiting again on my return to Plett.

Excellent hostel with amazing views over the bay.Check out the sunrise in the morning - it's awesome! The hostel is clean and the guys that run it are very friendly and accommodating. We really enjoyed our short stay during the World Cup! Paul & Laura

Ben and Josie were amazing hosts. We felt as if we were just staying in their home. We drank beers, played games, watched movies in addition to enjoying our time in Plett. When our travel plans hit a snag, they were very helpful finding alternatives. The hostel was clean, new, comfortable, and the view was amazing from the deck! Kitchen was large and we even had a braai, Ben grilled, we drank beer! Enjoy your time with them, and remember only one thing, don't play shots of wine pool with Ben...

This was one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in! The owners are awesome and are willing to arrange tours for you! They also do a wicked braai! The view is fantastic and it is in the center of town! The beds are very comfortable and the place is clean! The price tops it off as being one of the best hostels ever!
