Point Break Backpackers, your home away from home!
We have available budget and cosy dorm or private room in friendly atmosphere, equipped facilities, good connections to the city centre and the ocean at door step.
Are you a traveller? We have tons of activities! BBQ and PUB CRAWL, MOVIE- QUIZ night every week! Don't know what to do during the day? Start the day with FREE CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST, plus we can give you information for all activities and sightseeing available.
Are you looking for work and stay long term? We can support you in your job search and provide cheap weekly rates for long stay.

Arrival and Asking:
• office hours from 8am to 10pm daily
• 24 hours check-in available with prior arrangement
• check-in time 1pm / check-out time10am
• If arriving after 10pm please contact the hostel by email or phone us to arrange a late check-in. Early check-in between 9am to 1pm will depend on room availability.
• An identification, confirmation paper and $20 key deposit are required at check-in time
Accommodation:
• free WiFi 24h (20MB per night), fax/ printing and scanning service, free local calls, computer access during office hours
• fully equipped kitchen, pool room, TV room with DVD library, reading area with book exchange
• Café with delicious coffee specialties and snacks at reasonable prices

Our experienced team will always provide information and support for any of your questions or plans for all kind of activities. A booking agent for Kiwi Experience, whale watching, swimming and kayaking with dolphins and much more is available.
Located in the charming suburb New Brighton lots of activities can be found:
- a popular bustling pedestrian zone with lots of shops, restaurants and bars!
- the beach with the pier and the library! have a swim, surf, or read and relax, fish or sports,whatever you like!
- the bus stop outside the door with the best connections and an extensive bus network.
- in the surrounding: the Botanical Gardens, Canterbury Museum, Cowles Stadium and the casino.

Latest Review
Great chatty staff and cheap wifi. Had a lovely welcoming atmosphere and a free breakfast. We moved from a hostel in the center of Christchurch to Point Break Backpackers in New Brighton and found it a much better area with loads more going on than in the center as a result of the earthquake.
