I enjoyed the atmosphere in this hostel, it was very homey and comfortable. The kitchen, lounge area, bathrooms and rooms were clean. The only downside I found was that there were many long stay guest in the hostel.

I had a great stay here, would definitely recommend. It was clean, central (you can easily walk in to the city, and there are lots of shops/cafes/bars on Ponsonby Rd) and the building looks like the house from Charmed. The staff were good as well, especially the older lady on reception, who was so nice and helpful!

the hostel is good. However, internet is not free, and if you pay for internet have only a few minutes availables. The location is not bad but it is far away of the main interesting points of the city.

Really nice small hostel in Ponsonby where you can find nice cafes and restaurants and you can get within circa 10 minutes by Linkedin Bus to the city center. The hostel is more like a house which gives a nice atmosphere. The luggage place in the dorms and the toilets are only a bit small.

Despite other entries here, I experienced the staff as very unfriendly and unorganized. I spend one night in a dorm in a very shaky bed. The other night in a single room of circa 3 square metres (no kidding) with a bed and a chair in it and nothing else for 45 NZ$ - which is ridiculously expensive, even for Auckland. The area (Ponsonby) is nice, but I certainly cannot recommend a stay in this hostel.

We were in room 12? a double in the annexe and were awoken every morning around 07:30 by loud television noise from the room next door which we believe was the staff living area.

We had a nice stay there. The location is good and the city centre of Auckland can be reached easily by feet. But also near the hostel there are a lot of shops, restaurants, food court and bars. The hostel was clean and the rooms ok. The team was very helpful.

Overall a great hostel. Clean and a decent location. About 20 to 25 minutes from downtown. Downside is there is no free Wifi or Computers. Charging for internet is so in the past. I understand it add's to the bottom line, however it degrades the experience. However, there is plenty of free Wifi in Auckland, so just walk around. Other than that, it is a really nice hostel. The atmosphere was pretty good as well, though it wasn't as easy going as some of the other hostels I have stayed at in NZ.

Really enjoy the stay, great atmosphere,it's more like a big house with huge backyard, leaving room with tv and pc, big kitchen facilities, quiet at night after 10h30.The staff is really cool and helpfull, organising some parties for special occasions. Only thing missing is the free broadband :). Ponsonby area is very nice, quiet compare to the CBD but also loads of great bar around, 20 minutes walking distance from the center

The hostel is full of character and is a lovely place to spend time in. It's clean, the staff are friendly and the rooms are really nice compared to other hostels. I'd defiantly recommend it to other people traveling alone or people who want a laid back trip to Auckland. Compared to other places I've stayed I'd say it's value for money.

Really nice place, but like I read in the comments, most of the people staying there are staying for a long time. A little far from the city center, but easy to get there by bus. Too bad the kitchen is locked down around 10:30.

Excellent extremely helpful staff. Small but clean room. Not in the center of downtown, but close enough that you can walk there. Very friendly atmosphere.
