Great hostel, felt like we were in a nice hotel. really clean and great staff, right on a beautiful beach, quite good surfing as well (the hostel rents boards). Great place to go for a couple of days to get out of rio. i emphasize however that this is quite outside rio! it took over an hour in a taxi with not much traffic from ipanema, would not recommend staying here if u plan to be seeing all the sights of Rio everyday. there are buses but not too easy. But still great hostel!

This hostel is located outside of Rio, it is difficult to get here and the breakfast is really bad in comparison to the other hostels I stayed at. But it was easy to make friends here and it is nicely located by the sea. So it all depends on what you want. It is good for surfing but bad if you want to go sightseeing in the city center. The staff was really nice though but I would not stay here again since it is so far away.
