Popol Vuh is literally steps from the beach. Nice outdoor patio. The kitchen is decent. No water, coffee, or breakfast provided. It can get a bit loud as there is a speaker system set up outside and everyone is invited to plug in their devices. Property is locked with a gate at night. Everything is a little funky and could use a deep cleaning but for the price and location you aren't going to do any better.

Host was great. Location is amazing. The place has an awesome vibe too. hammocks and wifi. Right in the middle of everything, and right on the beach! The problem I had was the shower kept dripping, and I couldn't sleep well as a result. My room had AC, but some of them don't. You might want to check on that in advance.

Quite a basic hostel with a nice courtyard to relax in. Location as good as needed in playa, you can walk everywhere and get home easily from nightlife. Was not the most social hostel, if that is what you are after. The place could also use a few hooks and benches for rooms. Toilets and beds were again, basic, but nothing wrong with them.

Well, the staff had a party until 2:30 a.m. in front of my door. I've asked them to keep it down a bit but at midnight the music was turned so loud that even through my ear plugs it felt like I'm in a club. The shower was not working resp. literally only dripping cold. I left the accommodation after one night.

Lady at front desk was so kind. This place is right on the beach (through a little walkway). It is cheap and affordable. If you don't care too much about having something upscale but want a quiet and affordable place to sleep just next to the beach, this is for you! The rooms were clean. It is right on 5th avenue which is the best street on the main strip. This place is a 10/10 for location.

Nothing like the photos online. I saw a picture of 2 double beds side by side and found 1 double bed on ground floor of what I would call a 2 story hut. The second mattress was on the look of second story accessible by ladder. Went through 3 fans on second look none of which worked. We did have working shower, sink and toilet and only a few hundred feet from beach and bus station. Strictly bare essentials only. Nice courtyard with hammocks and shared kitchen and barbeque .
