This place is unacceptable, and should not be listed as a hostel. The entire place is absolutely filthy and there is absolutely no professionalism. There's no security at all, not even locks on the main door. Someone could've easily walked right in. The first day staying there the lady that runs the place got into a screaming match threatening to call the cops on one of the guests. The bathroom was filthy and so wasn't the "common room." This is more like a halfway house than a hostel.

I got in at 11pm. It took 15minutes to get service. Since it was rather late, and it's a small business, that seemed all right. When I got to my room, two empty cans of beer, and the shell of a pack if cigarettes where waiting on the desk table. The towel was on the ground and still wet. The bed had obviously been sleapt in and the sheets where stained. I put on full length pyjamas and slept on top of the covers, promising myself I'd buy a sleeping bag liner the next day. which, buy started

This is an old motel which has been partly converted to an unusual hostel. I was in a small room with 3 beds (not bunks). The good: cold air-conditioning (it was hot outside when I stayed there), reliable wifi, private bathroom with plenty of hot water, and a decent kitchen with a clean refrigerator. The bad: no lockers, shower not so clean, and a single bathroom shared among 5-10 people. Not perfect, but better than the reviews would indicate. Otherwise it's $70/night at the Motel 6.

Its dirty and the actual price is other than the one shown originally because of extra hidden fees. Its very dirty, so disgusting i did not take a shower. I had to wait around 30 min outside to get access to my room when check in stated it was at 2pm. thats the time i got there and no one was there until 2 30pm.

Portland pensione should be your last resource. It's very dirty and smelly. Staff can be rude and quite expensive for what you get.

Service was terrible, the room was dirty, smelly and very rundown. Zero security on the windows and a broken AC. Do not recommend.

The Pensione is not a hostel. It would be more accurate to call it a flop house. This place is literally one of the worst I've ever stayed in. No lockers, a malfunctioning air conditioning unit that would keep a narcoleptic awake, and the occasional addict wondering the grounds. You may as well get a tent and find a nice bridge to stay under
