This is one of the best hostel that I have been lived in. Cheap price with a high quality breakfast, clean places and convenient location. However, the place may be too noisy even in the midnight because there are many bars just siutated in the opposite side.

The staff that works the day time struggled with English, so it was hard to get recommendations for what we were looking for specifically. The kitchen area was great and clean, but the showers were not. There was like black mold in the grout and on the ceilings. The drains are clogged. There are lamps on all of the beds for show, but ours didn't work. Didn't keep soap dispensers full for two days and when it had soap, it was watered down. Towels they provided were crunchy. Wifi extremely spotty

It's a too simple Hostel to a "Hostelworld Recommendation". But good location and it is clean enough to a good stay.

Great hostel. The staff is very friendly. Location is excellent and close to bus stop for airport. Only con for me was that the hostel is smack in the middle of downtown and I was on ground floor, which means it was not quiet in the dorm, especially because Portuguese people love to party until 5am. Falling asleep if you are trying to catch an early bus/train could be challenging.

Awesome hostel - central, friendly and helpful staff, a free breakfast, stylish design, the rooms have lockers, individual lamps and small baskets for your own stuff in the bed. Clean, great kitchen, a nice window view. Great value for a cheap price. All the hostels in the world should learn how to run a hostel by looking how its done in Portugal. Book it :)

Generally a very good and decent hostel. The best thing is the breakfast. The hostel prepared cheese and ham sandwich for each of us.

Porto DownTown Hostel is a great place for anybody. It´s friendly atmosphere allows you to relax and their large lounge area promotes conversation and meeting new people. If traveling on a budget, the full kitchen allows you to cook your own meals. The downstairs market also is really nice. Overall it was a great place to stay in Porto!

The location was pretty good (Aliados is 2 min. away; Clérigos is 2 min. away; Lello Library is in the next doors). The hostel is very clean and safe. The kitchen is very well equiped. The breakfast is ok for an hostel. We wanted to pay through debit card but that is not possible. We were told that we could pay later but a few hours later another employee asked us for the money. This is only a small drawback, though. I would definitely recommend Porto Downtown Hostel.

Fantastic stay at this hostel. All the staff were very friendly and helpful (we had our bikes delivered here for the Camino). Good breakfast in the morning and an excellent kitchen / living room area to chill out. Big thumbs up!

Everything was great, except breakfast. We came at 10 (breakfast is till 10:30), and there were empty plates. We only got one small bread with one cheese. In other hostels I had much better breakfasts, but everything else was great.

The hostel is nice and has a great atmosphere, the staff is adorable - they're really nice and helpful, and the breakfast was great. But my bed wasn't the best, it was broken so it was discomfortable and the shower was really really bad, it was cold and you couldn't shower properly because the water tap has a "timer" so you only get 10 seconds of water and then you have to press it again.

spent 3 nights at this hostel and it was really good! The staff was helpful with information, they provide plug adaptors, hair dryer. The cleaness was fine, the signal of wifi was always good! The location is excellent! I would go back there!

Good location near the city center, free breakfast. By the way, no heater so the room is cold and it is noisy at night and one of the staff speaks English very little so it is difficult to communicate to ask for the information etc... Anyway, it is good for value of money :)
