You were the best hosts!I enjoyed the beach you told me about in front of the capitol, just a few blocks away. It's hard to believe it costs just $1.50 to get from the airport to within a 5min walk of your old town hostel via the 40/50bus(75 cents)& then tranfer to 5/53 bus(75 cents) at Isle Verde, in front of the cockfighting arena. And it was only $1 round trip on the M3bus to 2 cinemas. You were so close to Subway and their $2.14 6inch chickenbreast sub!Virginia&Christine, see you again in 2013!

Hotel Posada was clean, comfortable and had the most perfect location. It was the first time any of us (2 couples) had stayed in a hostel and we had a great experience! It was nice to mingle with other guests in the common areas and the location could not have been any better. We rented private rooms - Each had a fridge, a reasonably comfortable bed and a small fridge. We also enjoyed the balcony overlooking the square.

The hostel Posada is unpretencious, but if you don't expect a five-star hotel, it's everything you need. The location is perfect, the staff is kind and friendly and helpful and the sheets are clean. However, I got some small ants on my luggage in the storage room, but nothing worth panicking over.

I am personally very grateful to them for providing these accommodations to us travelers. It is a Godsend to have such a nice, safe, and friendly place to stay when visiting an unfamiliar location. Steve

Laundry facilities are listed on the website in error and should be noted as off-site. Part of the reason I stayed here was for that. Upon arrival, I waited for some time outside a locked gate late at night. Did not feel safe. If you have a lot of luggage like I had, it was not easy getting in and out of the elevator and moving around the stairs. It was very unclear about which rooms I had access to. On the positive side, it has a great view of old San Juan.

Perfect location on OSJ. Bare bones but clean and fine for a night pre cruise. If you are looking for a 4-5 star hotel you will not be happy. If rustic accomodations in a great location is acceptable you will befine. This is a hostel with a lot of character

This hostel was amazing, one of the best I have stayed at for sure. Its location is in the heart of Old San Juan and everything you need in within a 15 minute walk. The veiws were amazing from the balconies and the kitchen was kept in top notch condition. I would absolutely stay here again!

The common areas are very nice, great view all over the island, that is the best part. I had a single room for for $40 which looked like a prison cell. It used to be a bathroom, the walls had old ugly tiles, and there is nothing in the room except a single bed and a fridge. Nothing to put a bag on, not one hook to hang anything, and no window to open. The AC has a metal shield on top of it, when it rains it is impossible to sleep. Not worth the privacy.

Owner Comment (Show)
The single rooms where laundry areas not bathrooms; The reason we made this room was because lots of single travelers didnt want to pay the rate for a complete regular room $50-$60 ; or a dorm: $20, The single room "Extreme Budget Room" which you paid $38 and rate can vary from $30-$38; is for someone that needs it just for sleeping... you have keys to access all areas of the hostel such as kitchen and tons of common areas. Old San Juan is really expensive so this room will be the absolute cheapest in town...and some guest on a budget are greatful for that is why we made it in the first place. So for $38 dont expect luxury just a bed to sleep in and fridge and kitchen.

Very nice environment and reasonable hostesses. I enjoyed my time there and felt safe and comfortable. I also got the Puerto Rican experience feel.

This was my first hostel experience. I traveled to Puerto Rico with my 2 daughters, ages 11 and 14, and I am 48. This is not a hotel by any means the rooms are very spartan but clean. The guests were mostly young professionals. The building is very old but beautiful with very solid walls so the rooms were very quiet. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. We arrived on Thanksgiving Day and they hosted a very nice dinner for all the guests. The location is ideal!

Hostel is located in a beautiful old building with old San Juan feel. Location was great - at the center of Plaza Colon, the major square in the Old San Juan. Very safe. All attractions are in walking distance. It was very difficult to get the with public transportation (which apparently sucks in Puerto Rico). Need to switch buses. We waited well over an hour for one. Other couple was refused bus entry, because them (normal) suitcases were too big (our backpacks were ok). Better to use taxi.

I had a fantastic time at Posada. From check-in at 1AM to check-out, only the best feedback for the staff and the facilities.
