This hostel was actually closed. When we arrived, we were greeted by the very friendly host who apologised and said that the place was closed due to some sort of health issue. So we lost our US$21-50 deposit. He was kind enough to organise another hotel for us at the same rate in the main street (Ariel hotel ... very good!) and organised a taxi for us at no price. I would not consider this place even if it were to open again. It's way in the back blocks in an area that did not feel safe.

The double rooms are great in this beautiful house. We can echo all the the previous comments. You will not be disappointed with your stay. It is important to note though that the kitchen is not really available for use if you want to cook. Also what left a bitter taste in our mouth is that we were overcharged as the owners used an unfavourable exchange rate for our final bill.
This is not a "hostel", its essentially a bed and breakfast at a hostel price. What more could you ask for! Rooms and bathrooms are in perfect condition. Breakfast is great (one day it was homemade ham and cheese breakfast sandwiches. The owners are UNREAL. Nicest people on the face of the planet. Only thing to take a couple minor points off is that it is maybe a 10 min walk from downtown, but straight up hill. Overall, we would go back any day of the week!
Soo glad I booked with them, make you feel soo welcome and very kind. Standard is great, service excellent. This is a fab place to stay and I would stay with them again. No regrets!!!

Juan and Graciela were excellent hosts, so kind and friendly. Breakfast was prepared every morning no matter how early our excursions were. It really made our visit to El Calafate special. Juan even gave us a ride to dinner at Don Pichon instead of letting us walk the 1 mile. We would only stay at Posada del Angel if/when we return to El Calafate.
Juan greets you as a family firend, not a paying guest. Rooms are comfortable, if a touch on the cozy side. Nothing is too much trouble, early breakfast accommodated for early excursions - would would recommend 100%. Juan y Marta, muchos gracias - hasta leugo!!
The couple who own this B&B are among the kindest, sweetest, and most accommodating people we could ever hope to encounter. Their home is immaculately clean, our room was bright and spacious, and the substantial breakfasts were prepared and served with care. From the moment we arrived, we felt as tho we were guests of old friends. Graciela and Juan obviously love what they do, and it shows in all the small gestures of hospitality they project. They made our stay in ElCalafate a complete joy.
A very charming couple, Juan and Graciala. Please keep the high standard you have demonstrated!!!
