The hostal was quaint and accomodating. There were a lot of people staying there mostly students but it was in a good area of Cuenca and near the bus line.

La Posada del Rio is a family run hostel. Very safe and clean, with common dining and TV area and well equipped kitchen. It is also very acoustic house and every step is clearly heard by other guests.

The beds were comfortable and the location was perfect! The staff was friendly, but very hard to find when we needed them. There is no reception desk, so they end up being randomly around the hostel and hard to find, sometimes in a room with a shut door.. not very accessible. There were also two instances where we not only didn´t have hot water, but no water at all. They fixed it for us, but still annoying. Overall, nice place - worth the annoyances.
