Our room - middle of the second floor - was VERY noisy. The only thing dividing our room from our neighbor's was a built-in armoir, which let in our neighbor's slightest whisper, fart, you name it. And vice-versa, I'm sure. The floors creak loudly on the second floor (except the kitchen), so we woke up every time someone walked to the shared bathroom. These things can be fixed with intelligent remodeling. Turn off the doorbell at night so THAT doesn't wake us too!! Guests have keys!

The hostal was quaint and accomodating. There were a lot of people staying there mostly students but it was in a good area of Cuenca and near the bus line.
