Wow what a great place to stay. The owners could not make you feel any more welcome and are able to assist with any questions. Such great local knowledge was fantastic. The place has a great atmosphere and the breakfast was delicious. Close bike ride to town, beach and ruins.

I would definitely come back to this hostel. It is very clean, beautiful, and Chelo and Joaquin are amazing hosts and chefs. The free breakfast was the best thing we ate in Mexico. I really can't say enough good things about this place. It was like staying in a gorgeous treehouse surrounded by flowers. We met great people here and really enjoyed our stay. Chelo makes you a map of the area, gives you a bicycle, recommendations on things to go and see, lets you rent snorkel gear for cheap! Love!

Awesome hostel. The hostel is located right next to the Tulum Mayan ruins, the main town is a 10 minute bike ride away or 50 peso taxi. The staff in the hostel are a mother and son who are great people and very knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend going to Akumal, beautiful beach and you can swim with turtles for free! As all the reviews state the breakfasts are amazing.

Heads up that they spray pesticides on bags due to bedbugs. It is certain that there are no bedbugs there as a result but if you are hesistant to have pesticides sprayed on your stuff then another place might be a better option. Other than that it was a great stay.

Our stay at Posada los Mapaches was a charm. They are so warm and nice with the most beautiful smile. For a very low price they give us a bike and they prepared us a delicious breakfast. It is so close to the ruins of Tulum and the beach! The only default is that the place is on the edge of the road so you can hear many trucks ... Do not forget your earplugs and it will be perfect.

Delicious breakfast! After staying here, breakfast at any other hostel will seem meager. With the free bike rental, it's easy to get around. I also like the fact that you can you can rent a snorkel mask for 40 pesos for your entire stay. It's much cheaper than renting gear at any other place, and you can use the gear the entire time you're in Tulum. It was a bit odd that we had to leave our passports with the staff, but they were secure, and we had not problems getting them back.

Chelo and Joaquin were excellent hosts! I felt as if they had welcomed me into their home. And the breakfast - well I haven't eaten a breakfast as good since I've gotten home!

Great hostel. Amazing staff, who really went the extra mile for you. It is a little far from the beach, but then you are close to the ruins and you get a bike!

I thought that this was a great place to stay for travellers, the staff make you feel like family and welcome you with a smile. The gate to the grounds is locked and you feel secure and safe.

A place we highly recommend. Mama Chelo really looked after us. The best breakfast we had in Yucatan. Ricardo gave us a great tip: for your hammock, go to the prison in Vallodolid were you buy the best hammocks in the whole of Mexico. So we did.

Wonderful! It sounds redundant, but the hospitality, breakfasts, and bikes at this place are amazing! Also, there are the eminently chill hammocks and eminently chill people. We also had a fabulous tour day with some of the staff and it was really a knock out of the trip. I've traveled to dozens of countries and stayed in many many hostels and budget hotels--this isn't my first rodeo--so I can say with real street cred' that this is a gem. Do it.

The Posada is amazing!! The staff is the best, they´ll treat you like your own family, giving all kind of great recommendations. Having a bike in Tulum is a must and they provide it with security vest, bike lock and a headlight!!! Friendly enviroment not far from town or beach; and the best breakfast you can imagine prepared with love by "Mama Chelo"!!!

Great location near beach access and a bit off from the crowd. Historic breakfast, very helpful and cheerful staff. Mama Cello cooks like your mama only dreamed of. Lots of interactivity with other travelers. Set against a forest/jungle background. Nice clean rooms. It was a cold spell for about half the time we were there and still it rocked. So.....a nice quiet place with laughter and interaction---plus a free bike (very important here as "the beach" is very long)

Great hostel with joyful and pleacefull atmosphere. Mama Cielo and her "boys" do an amazing job, always willing to help and make you feel good. The whole yard is a little sweet paradise. Cabanas are charming and rustic. A bit noisy by night. Free bikes and flashlights provided. Last but not least, breakfast is the best I have ever had in 3 years of traveling.
