Really enjoyed our stay here. The owner Chelo was one of the most friendly and helpful hosts we had during nine months of travelling.

The staffs are extremely nice and helpful. They give you tips on where to go. And we LOVE every suggestion they gave. They give you bikes when you arrive, which is a great way to get into the Tulum town center. Biking takes about 10~15 min. However, it gets quite dark at night when biking. But they give you a flash light as well!

chelo and sons are amazing, thoughtful, caring and funny! chelo knows everything about the tulum area re: sightseeing tips, restaurants etc. If you are looking for a really sociable hostel to meet young people to go out on the town with, posada los mapaches caters more towards those looking to stay in for a chat and a good night sleep. Bike rental is included and can use them to get to the beach in 10 minutes, getting to town is 10 minutes.

Wonderful hostess! She was kind and helpful and always available. It is a ways away from the town centre and the beach but with the bicycle included it was perfect. Close to the ruins, easy ride on a bike path to town and a quick ride to the public beach entrance just south of the ruins. And delicious breakfasts!!

Chela, the owner of the hostel, is fantasic - a very welcoming and informative lady. Her breakfasts are amazing - full of fresh fruit, a hot plate that changes daily and good cinnamon coffee. The bike scheme is a great one and it takes less than 5 minutes to cycle to the beach next to Tulum's ruins.

Chelo is an amazing host. Very welcoming, knowledgable, generous and extremely friendly. The breakfasts are wonderful. There is a fair amount of traffic noise but you soon get used to it and having the bikes included, along with lights and locks, means you're in the perfect central location between beach, ruins and the town.

As soon as you arrive, you are explained the rules We are 48 and 53, considerate.. we treated like teenagers staying in a boarding school. smaller breakfast than others because she said we could not finish them. We paid the same money as others. No kitchen, just refrigerator. We booked two separate bookings and wanted to cancel the second . The owner , took the money for both and did not refund the deposit. even though we told her to cancel 48 hours in advance. Save your money, go elsewhere.

A wonderful place with the best host(s) in the world - felt like at home. It's such authentic place and you feel really welcome and well treated. The breakfast is a bomb and also water, towels, bikes (locks, safety west, lamps) are included. Highly recommended for a stay in Tulum!

There is a big road in front of the hostel and there is a lot of noise from the trafic. The hostel is close to the beach.

This place is great - Chelo is a fantastic hostess who will make you really welcome. It is located on the main highway just outside of town but very near the ruins - the free bikes (with headtorches and high vis vests provided for night cycling) make it very easy to get to town or the best bit of beach in under 15 minutes and it was a nice way to get around. There is a cycle path into town. And agree with everyone on the great breakfasts - I looked forward to them every day!

I had a truly wonderful stay. Chelo (the host) is an incredibly kind lady, and she will make you feel at home. Location is opposite the ruins so you can easily bike over to beat the crowds. A beautiful part of the beach is a short bike ride away, as is the town - I cycled everywhere. Breakfasts are huge and delicious, keep you full all day! Great experience of being surrounded by jungle. Highway is a bit noisy, but just bring earplugs. Highly recommend this place, I would definitely stay again!

We had a wonderful stay there thanks to Chelo and her boys. Breakfast were fantastic and having the bike was great. The only downside would be the noise from the road outside but it was minor. Definitely would stay there again !
