The Pousada Ecoverde was the perfect base for our explorations of the Pantanal and the Chapada dos Guimaraes. We were three friends from London backpacking though Brazil with limited time and budget. Joel, his sons and employees went out of their way to make us feel at home. Our room was a good large size, the beds comfortable, the hostel was clean and well presented with lots of character unlike so many other hostels. The breakfast was also very nice. We have given the hostel top marks.

The Pousada of Joel is a very nice place, where you can relaxe and hide from the big city. Joel is very helpful with all and you get a lot for your money. I also did a tour through the Pantanal, which was organized by Joel and i can highly recommend it! :)

The best hostel ever!!! The owner Joel is an awesome guy!! He can arrange everything, is very nice and he speaks 1000 different languages!! The pousada is like a oasis in the center of the city with a big garden and many hammocks... I've had my best breakfast ever in thee garden, listening to the birds in the trees (: Great time!

Nice family run hostel with good breakfast, Joel the owner went out of his way to make us feel welcome and was always helpful. There was no pressure to purchase tours through him but he was happy to provide information if asked.

Ecoverde Hostel, is worth the stay the owner Joel really works hard to please his guests and is not pushy about trying to get people onto tours. I consider the hostel relaxed with a cool atmosphere, not a party place but certainly worth a visit.

Has the potential to be a really nice hostel, in real need of a good clean and maintenance. Once completed this would be real good. Joel the owner is a really nice guy and good host, if he sorts those things out will be good.
