Booked into the prince of wales for 1 night and ended up staying for 2 and it was only my flight to bangkok that stopped me staying longer. Had a really fun time and met some great people. They have some cool staff who really go out of their way to help you and give you lots of good info on singapore. Will definitely be coming back here to stay on my next visit to singapore for sure. All in all one of the best backpackers i have stayed in throughout asia. I really liked this place. it was really refreshing to arrive in a cool hostel/pub, greeted by a fellow Brit at check-in, shown around, then in the bar for an ice cold cheap XXXX beer (cheap for Singapore) and see live bands/music. I had a ball! "The Coronas" from Ireland were staying as well when i was there. They played a show in the beer garden, brilliant. A very convenient place to stay, friendly and helpful staff, very clean, great place to meet interesting people. Small downside is the roof over the toilets/showers leak a bit when it rains! Unfortunately while I was staying there the place got robbed. I feel sorry for the owners because it looks like it might have been an inside job. Great place to stay otherwise. Wireless internet please! Why don't you guys have internet 24/7? Also, get more knowledgeable staff. Your staff seemed confused, one told me there was no wireless available at all. New linen would be great. Sleeping on linen that seemed to have been slept on and washed 50 times over was very unpleasant. i booked a 5 bed dorm online but ended up in an eight bed dorm open plan with 4 other 8 bed dorms so technically 32 but everyone was respectful and the man who worked there drew out a good plan for me to see everything in a short time.
