This place was great! Staff was very helpful and the hostel environment was even better. This is a place that I would come back to just because of the environment. Wifi connection was very good and the location was good as well. The free breakfast was delicious. I stayed in a private dorm and the facility was clean and comfortable.

I loved my time at this hostel! Everyone was really relaxed and super friendly. The location couldn't have been better- a short walk to the main pedestrian streets. And just to make the hostel even better- really nice, hot showers and great wifi- a little perk to hostel life!

Nice hostel, definitely worth staying there 2 or 3 nights. It would be really nice if there were power outlets in the dorms and definitely if there were power outlets next to the beds. At least in the dorm where I stayed there were none. The view from it was nice though, I stayed in the top one. The facilities are top notch. Sometimes the awesone garden/bonfire they have is not accesible after midnight, which is a shame. It's far from the dorms and you wouldn't bother anyone there.

By far the best hostel I have been to, the staff does everything to make your stay as comfortable and fun as possible. There is free breakfast, free cocktail nights, a garden with fireplaces and hammocks to chill as well as a bar etc.... beds were cozy and clean, also the neighborhood freakishly safe, even at night. coming back for sure, a huevo México!!

Beautiful old building away from the really touristic centre which is a plus. Staff were friendly and helpful and always on duty. The breakfasts are amazing with a sweet and savory option. The rooms are comfortable but unfortunately ours was across the street from a noisy karaoke bar - take ear plugs! The shared bathroom wasn't the best but it was mostly clean. More of a party hostel with a big hippy vibe.

Wish we had stayed longer!

Stay here. Just do it. And clear your schedule because you'll almost certainly stay twice as long as you planned.

Brilliant hostel. Great location and nice vibe. The breakfast is delicious. The staff are great and there's usually something organised daily for people to mingle. Beds are very comfortable and there's hot showers! 100% recommend this spot!

Amazing Internet, amazing breakfast! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The cook is super cool. Free mojito night was incredible at the fire place and with the live music. The building is super pretty and in the historic center. Best showers I've ever seen in hostels during my trip through Mexico. Would always recommend this hostel.

The hostel was in a location in walking distance to the historical city center. Shops and restaurants for daily needs also were very close by. The hostel itself is a nice old building, also pretty big. Also it has good wifi what many hostels don't have. Somehow I was missing an athmosphere in the hostel and the reception staff also seemed to be somehow bothered if you went and asked something. facilities itself were in good and clean shape but the bathroom bins were full all time -> bad smell

Great atmosphere at this hostel! Nigel did a great job in the kitchen and the breakfasts were the best I've ever had at any hostel. Can't believe it's included in the price. Well worth the value to stay here and the location in perfect, two blocks from main square. Would Highly recommend Puerto Viaje!

Spacious, characterful building but not adequate for cold mountain weather. Bed booked was not available until 5.5 hours after I arrived. Excellent breakfasts and evening meals. My laptop charger was lost within the hostel causing a big problem.

el mejor hostel en San Cris, excelente atención

While staying at this hostel we experienced a touch of home because the atmosphere was extremely welcoming. The staff go above and beyond to make your stay memorable and enjoyable. The new bar and fire place adds a 5 star hotel feel that we had never experienced at hostels before. The food cooked by THE BEST CHEF IN SAN CRISTOBAL (Nigel) was with out a doubt some of the best we have had in Mexico and very cheap! The hostel was full (75) each night and noise was never an issue.A MUST STAY HOSTEL!
